Good food. Service great Beautiful inside...totally remodeled..
No one would wait on us. They weren’t busy. We got up and left.
We had bacon cheese burgers, fries and cheese sticks, met Tony as he brought our food out and talked to us after dinner and offered us a piece of pizza. Will definitely be back.
Tony- it’s a HOLIDAY weekend, staff your freakin restaurant. And order food accordingly. This is why restaurants fail, use some common sense and be prepared. I can’t tell you how many people came in, looked around, and walked out. One person to run the bar and dining room is unfair to the employee and customers. Half the menu isn’t even available. #fail. You have ONE chance to make a first impression.
The wings are delicious 😋. They don't have rooms to rent.
Wings were undercooked and over seasoned.
If you want the real deal drive 10 minutes to The Clarion River Lodge and get The Original Vowinckel Wings on Thursdays . Great Atmosphere and service every time!
My husband is PICKY about wings - they were some of the best he has ever had. We will absolutely be making this a regular stop!
This is not a hotel. It's a dive restaurant --and I use the word restaurant loosely. I have eaten in dives and greasy spoons that were amazing--this was not one of them.
Our drinks came in Styrofoam cups. When we got refills, they just brought us the same cups with our used straws in it--and we had no way of knowing if we got our own cups back. Good thing we were family and didn't mind drinking after each other.
They apparently don't have a cook. I heard a waitress say it was only her boyfriend and someone's kid in the kitchen, and neither had any restaurant experience.
All the waitresses were going to every table, so it was very confusing. One waitress was an older woman, and she tried hard, but she was struggling. The others were clearly inexperienced kids, and they had little idea what they were doing.
The menu is extremely limited, with only one flavor of wings. I don't care for dry rubs, so I skipped it and got a burger. My family got burgers, a steak salad, and tenders. It took almost an hour to get our food. Then when it did come out, there were mistakes in the order. We had to wait longer for fries, which were supposed to come with the meal. My brother's steak was ice cold. He sent it back, but it came back tough and inedible. The fries were good, at least.
I think they bit off more than they could chew. they should have waited to open once they had all the appropriate, experienced staff hired and ready to work. I would think twice before eating here--or least for awhile, until they can get a real cook hired and more staff to help things run more smoothly.
The Vowinckel used to be THE place up here. Best wings and pizza for the longest time! The new owner made the place beautiful, BUT…….he seriously needs to get someone behind the counter who knows what the hell they’re doing. They don’t answer their phone. If they do answer, they put you and hold and forget about you. We asked for 18 wings once and were told they don’t have 18 wings; they only have a dozen and a half dozen……UHHHH……that’s 18!!!!!!! I had high hopes for this place but it will never make it unless they hire someone who knows how to run a business.
It is a bar and minimum menu restaurant. The food is great with a signature Wing rub that is sweet and savory. Love this place.

Country restaurant. Real close to Cook Forest. Newly renovated. Check it out.

Small menu with huge flavor. Bacon cheeseburgers are delicious. They have wings!!!
They are shut down. Owner Larry lost his alcohol license so the doors are closed...
