The food was really good! We enjoyed the cocktails (margarita and espresso martini), appetizers (brussels sprouts and poutine), and entrees (like the chicken pot pie). We did feel a little rushed at the end, as we were given the check before we had a chance to ask about desserts.
We have been frequent guests of Black Powder for years. The food is always good and service is good as well. Last night we had the best server, Jason. Could not have been more attentive.
We had a great time meeting friends at the Black Powder on Sat night. It was busy and packed, parking is a challenge and thanks to the Valet guys! The wings are perfectly crispy and spicy and the Poutine appetizer could have been my meal! So delicious, paired with a pumpkin beer. For dinner the Chicken Pot Pie and half chicken never disappoint. Best mashed potatoes!! We also loved the bread pudding and apple crisp. Alanna did a great job taking care of us!
Food was hearty, service excellent and server very polite and attentive. Went specifically for the chicken pot pies ...excellent!!
Great find after a day spent in Valley Forge National Park. Great pub food, extremely friendly service, warm and cozy atmosphere.
Food was very good, and we were lucky to be seated off the main dining room. Main dining room was very noisy. I was disappointed that we had said it was for a birthday and nothing was done. I would definitely go back again.
Black Powder is always a great experience for us. We frequently eat there when we want a consistent and delicious meal with great service. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a good meal and great service.
So much room for improvement. Our waitress was new so we tried to be patient. Apparently the keg had kicked unbeknownst to us. After 20 minutes we were told and then it took another 10 to get our beer that was a special. Our water glasses were not refilled. We were not asked if we would like another drink. Our pork snitzel was overcooked- could not cut with a butter knife but rather a steak knife. The spatzule was good as was the purple cabbage. The sauerbraten had little taste and was not tender. We saw extra staff/management floating around but not pitching in. These are basic steps when waiting on customers. Management needs to step up its game and help their staff whether in the kitchen, bar, or on the floor. We will not return.
We were there for a quick girlfriend lunch. The server was wonderful and the food was good. Perfect outing.
I enjoyed the Thai Noodle Dish with Chicken, but the Custard Brownie Sundae was the highlight of the meal!

The Black Powder Tavern was so good the first time that we returned 2 days later. The salmon was delicious as was the fish and chips. Our granddaughter really enjoyed the pasta. Kendall was our server and she was just as good the second time as she was on our first visit. We will definitely go back when we are in the area.
Service was inattentive and the wrong food was brought to the table. Attitude of the manager was not pleasant and caring.
Ordered two salads and very disappointed in both. Chopped salad had little to no bacon and cheese in it. Just a bowl of shredded lettuce. My date was also disappointed in her Mediterranean salad. Made a similar comment...'just all lettuce'. I had a chopped salad a week ago at the airport that was awesome. Big pieces of bacon, chunks of cheese, half an avocado, hard boiled egg...that's a chopped salad. We both know the tavern from past experience and thought well of it. very disappointed this time. Regards.
Always consistent with the food, service, and value. Great location to meet up with other humans. As much as I love music, unfortunately it can end up not adding to the overall experience of dining and socializing.
Our dinner experience was and always very good, I can't help but pass the word on this hidden gem.
