I’m not sure how this place is still in business. I learned my lesson (for the second time in a row) that the folks who work here don’t know what they’re doing. I think the store is run by high school and college students. The first time, I came in the morning, (fairly early but soon after opening)—I was ordering prior to going to work, and saw them making/handing over breakfast food to customers who ordered just before I did, and then proceeded to tell me that the kitchen was closed. Okay, strange, but no problem. I thought it was just circumstantial and a little weird, but alright. Then, I come back, all I do is order a large cold brew that I paid $7 (!!!) for, and one of the women working hands it to me and I’m not exaggerating when I say it was half foam. I went to ask if the foam could be poured out and if it could be filled all the way with coffee, but then she was nowhere to be found. I guess it was fine that it wasn’t completely filled because the coffee tastes like dirt. Hopefully they’ll get it together, because this place is way too expensive for the less-than-mediocre service provided. Take your business elsewhere.

LOVE this place!! Soo cute inside, they have plenty of seats and artwork on the walls. The quality of the coffee is great, and they have pretty good matcha!! I got a bergamot macadamia iced matcha and loved it.

Gryphon has some of the best coffee around.
They also do some seasonal house made syrups that is incredibly good.

Food has been unique and tasty the few times I have ordered.

Always a pleasure to see Rich around. Ten staff is nice.

Second floor of this location is nice as well.

Love that it’s open until the afternoon as well!

Truly top 5 favorite coffee shops. The coffees are always delicious, service pleasant, art stunning, and music on point. Also so much space for conversation or studying. Love it here and have for years! Just wanted to share. Had my best coffee there yesterday as a pour over. SO GOOD!!! Thanks Gryphon 💜

The Gryphon has been a Wayne staple for many many years and there’s no doubts as to why that is. The workers are friendly, the service is quick, there is plenty of seating for conversation or work, and (most importantly) the coffee is outstanding. The Main Line is filled with great coffee shops, but the Gryphon deserves its hype.

The last few times I have ordered a latte the ratios have been off. The drink is all milk with little to nothing else. There is so much milk I can only taste that. Disappointing.

My visit here was a bit underwhelming. Upon entering, it was extremely busy with a line forming out the door. However, we had driven a bit of a distance to get here because it's a location on a Coffee Passport Project I'm filling out. I took the line to mean that it was worth the wait. We did end up getting the last 2 seats available in the cafe, so that was nice, at least.
I was pleased to see they offered macadamia milk! Most places only offer oat or almond as alternative dairys, however when I asked the barista whether or not it was sweetened with sugar I recieved a tentative response of "um, I don't think so..but I'm not sure" but did not offer to check for me or make sure. I did not feel comfortable ordering it because of dietary restrictions I have, and I did not want to hold the line further by asking her to check for me; I assumed it would be common curtesy to check for someone after they ask a question like that. I ordered something else instead. The coffee was still good, nonetheless, and worth the wait. However the cafe needs some renovations! The way the ceiling is constructed makes it so the voices bounce off quickly, and suddenly, you can't hear the person talking who is sitting right across from you! Prices were standard. I'd say overall, this was just an average cafe and nothing special. Maybe when they're less busy, it's a more enjoyable experience.

Dietary restrictions: Oat, almond, and macadamia milk are offered as non dairys
