I really wanted to like Blue Elephant. I had heard great things, and it being open on Christmas Eve made it feel like a special choice. The restaurant itself is beautiful—well decorated, stylish, and inviting. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill quickly after we sat down.
It took about 15 minutes for our waiter to even introduce himself, and service never really recovered after that. The bread we ordered was genuinely good, but that was the high point of the meal.
The Kobe beef was essentially dropped on the table with no explanation of how to cook it or how the dish was meant to be enjoyed. It came with salt and pepper, but no guidance—most restaurants don’t expect you to season high-end dishes with your fingers, so some explanation would have gone a long way. The edamame dumplings were surprisingly hard and unpleasant to eat.
When the main courses arrived, they were again placed on the table with no interaction, as if we weren’t even there. Drinks showed up at the same time as the mains and were disappointing. The dirty martini tasted like it was made by someone new to bartending, lacking balance and polish. The garlic butter noodles were bland and completely missing flavor.
Overall, the food and service did not come close to matching the ambiance or the reputation. I left feeling genuinely underwhelmed, which was disappointing given how much I was looking forward to the experience. I hope this was an off night, because the space itself has so much potential—but based on this visit, it fell far short.

Came with large party. Spent a fair amount of money. Food was pretty good but the service was a bit jarring. We were actually told to basically leave as they had others waiting for the seats. I've never had that happen before. Even if the space was needed, a certain decorum is expected even at McDonald's, let alone this place. No worries though, I'll take it as a lesson and spend my cash in my neighborhood next time.

Honestly wouldn’t go back regardless if it’s the semi best option in the area. The hostess was incredibly rude and just cared about being on her phone and sipping her tea. In a completely empty venue- refused to let us have a drink outside for HH
