Great food. The somewhat price point (~$75 for an app, a large pizza, and two glasses of wine) is worth it. Enthusiastic service. Good music, bit too loud though. Seated at a kind of wobbly high top and couldn't hear my partner super well, but the bench seat in the window was a very cute touch haha.
We have consistently tried to make this place somewhere we would like to go. It didn’t work out. Awful.
Hostess couldn’t articulate the happy hour menu. “The waitress will tell you.” There is no printed happy hour menu like they used to have.
Waitress said $6 well drinks. Off-menu Gin gimlet is an “upcharge” because it’s not a “well drink”. Not sure they define well drink like rest of the world.
After ordering, I see the sign above the bar. “$6 mixed vodka and bourbon drinks”. Couldn’t read that when I walked in. Nobody pointed me to it. Management needs to train the staff. Can just easily order a “vodka gimlet”.
Apart from that, the wait staff was very nice and friendly. Food was great.
A bit loud, but the farmhouse vibe and woodwork cause that. It is a beautiful space and if you understand that the wood decor causes echoes in conversation, all is good!
Highly recommend the Sirloin Mac'N'Cheese!!!
Great night out for dinner with my daughters. We were early but seated immediately. I got a great recommendation from out waitress. My steak was cooked and presented perfectly. Parking was a little tricky but not terrible. Planning to return in the near future.
The new menu is awesome. Best the food has been any time I’ve gone here. We really enjoyed the peach burrata toast, calamari and smash burger. The pickles were big on the burger which I really liked. They also make their own ice cream and the matcha ice cream is AWESOME! The chef came out to bring our food to us and he was very friendly and obviously really excited about the new menu. Service was great too and they have an excellent drink menu. Overall, great experience!
Prior to today, we only had the best things to say about goats beard food. Unfortunately, we stopped by and sat outside since it was such a beautiful day and ordered two margaritas. They were undrinkable. Not just bad, really really bad.
I can't say enough about The Goat's Beard. Every time I have someone come visit me at work we end up there. The pizza is fantastic with the crispy cheese crust....then the gnocchi Mac and cheese with steak...the drinks are fantastic. Great happy hour as well!
Very pleased with everything we ordered. I'd be happy with the fries alone, but the smash burger they came with was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The autumn calamari was genius. I'd eat it every day if someone dropped it off at my door. 😁
Good beer selection. Nice bar atmosphere. 2 TVs if you want to watch sports.
We went to The Goat's Beard on Saturday, March 22 to celebrate our son's 51st birthday. There were three in our party. We waited 20 minutes without a server. Our son flagged a server in our area.
Ordered and got our appetizers in a timely manner. Waited another 35 minutes for our entrees.
Waited for our check.
The key points of our visit:
The food was delicious!
The service was not great. There were lots if employees running around. Some did not seem to know what their job was.
An employee thought it was a good idea to run a stick vacuum in the dining area to pick up crumbs. The exhaust blew on our son as he was eating!
The appetizer plates and silverware(wrapped) were in an open rack directly in the doorway. Everything the door opened, dirt and dust blew in.
Because of the above, We will not be back. Hopefully, the Manyunk location does a better job.

everything was great but the speakers kept cutting in and out was very annoying
I had high hopes for The Goat’s Beard,, but the experience was nothing short of disappointing. The ambiance tries to sell a trendy, upscale vibe, but it feels more like forced pretension. Service was sluggish and inattentive, despite the restaurant not being particularly busy.
The real letdown, though, was the food. I ordered the Short Rib, expecting something delicious. Instead, I got a greasy, soggy mess with barely any short rib to speak of. The cheese was congealed rather than melty, and the bread tasted like it had been left on the griddle far too long—or not long enough, depending on which half you bit into.
EDIT: Went here again, and they say they have a scanner for ID’s but do not use one. Seems not legal.
Wonderful food. Pizza blew us out the water. Great vibe. Impeccable service.
The food from the calamari to the pizza and smash burger was all delicious. Amazing food for a reasonable price. The service was on point as well, with the server stopping by at the perfect times for my party to order more food and drinks. My water was always filled, and I never had to ask for more. The ambiance was nice as well, it seemed like everyone there was enjoying themselves and the food.
They don't shake the Manhattan, the burger is always perfect (like the Manhattan). Bartenders actually pay attention to customers... It's true, no really it is. Most places need to take a master class on how goats beard runs their shop.
