I recommend you try the ricotta tortellini alfredo with chicken as a protein option. The sauce is creamy and when you take a bite out of the pasta the ricotta comes out and is just so heavenly. Plus the amount is chicken I got was a lot as I ended up having more chicken than the pasta itself. Service was good and we sat outside which was a well worth it. I will definitely come here again whether it’s with friends, family or with a special loved one.

We dined out for homecoming tonight. Morgan was our server. She was the sweetest. Very attentive and she frequently checked in on us. Made sure drinks were full and despite the long wait times on food she was very welcoming and entertaining. Drinks were also very good. Would definitely come again as long as morgan is out server!

We dined in last night (10/12/24). It was packed and the wait was long for our table, but it was worth it. It’s a Saturday night in WC - this happens. Lucas was our server (great job) and the manager was doing all he could (as was everyone) to handle the overflow of customers.
What I can say is that we have dined at Avalon probably 150 times (West Chester BYOB, Downingtown, and BarAV). The food has been consistent and fantastic through the years. It is worth the wait on a crowded night.
Starter - Tuna, Mains (lobster ravioli special and lamb bolognese), desert beignets and Wine Chappellet Mountian Cuvée.
Fantastic meal as always - the most lively I remember it in years. A sign of a healthy business, so you know they are doing it right!
Parking: Park somewhere other than Gay St and walk to the restaurant. Downtown WC now uses Flowbird for its parking app - not crazy about it compared to the previous app.

We had a great meal at Bar Avalon this past Saturday. We had a reservation at a different restaurant that they were not able to honor and we walked into with the hope they could seat the two of us. They were clear that they only had high tops and we had a great meal. The server was attentive to the perfect level. He both took care of us and allowed us to enjoy our anniversary dinner. The eggplant chip appetizer is unique and fantastic. Our meals were better than anything we have had in area. A great night.

We had the Chef's Tasting menu served at an outside table. From beginning to end it was wonderful, inventive, and perfectly executed; from the prosecco with the three-part appetizers, through the pasta course and the perfectly braised beef tips to the flourless chocolate tort with warm croissant beignets (to die for) accompanied by Lemoncello, each course perfectly matched with a spot-on wine/alcohol choice with appropriately generous pours. Our service staff could not have been much better; knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. Having had the good fortune to have worked in the kitchen with chefs from the Laundry ( Chicago ), Commanders Palace (New Orleans), and Brennans ( Buckhead, GA), I have a sense of what it takes to put together a meal like that and keep it special while turning out excellent food for everyone else in the restaurant. We could not have been happier. We choose to sit outside at a sidewalk table on a warm early fall evening and the walk-by traffic was respectful (and minimal) with a couple of minor exceptions. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Mia was absolutely amazing. Sunshine ? is the perfect nickname for her! We gor the truffle fries, hot honey sliders, short rib egg rolls (?), and bacon wrapped dates. Everything was delicious but the sliders. They were not spicy at all and no pickles. Won't deter us from coming back. Definitely recommend. :)
This is my second time coming to Bar Avalon. Food was fantastic. But the service was even better. Jimmy M was our server and he did a fantastic job making my family feel welcomed. Will be back for sure.
