Jen at Bar Avalon coordinated a 35 person sit down rehearsal dinner for my daughter a few weeks ago and the event was spectacular. The food and service were excellent. Jen communicated with me frequently to make sure everything was exactly as we wanted it and even set up a microphone for speeches. I highly recommend Bar Avalon and I will definitely use them for future events.

Stopped here for a happy hour drink. Good prices and options for happy hour, $10 cosmos. Food selection looked great also, get here earlier to get a good seat at the bar. Bar tenders were attentive and friendly, worth checking out

Dropped in here for brunch while on a bike ride. Got the mimosa brunch board for 2. That included 2 mimosas and enough food for two to share. Plus some aperol spritz. Great experience from the time we were greeted by the host till the time we left.

We loved being in the back room area. Skylight, plants, terra cotta, intimacy, feel of Italy.

Good food and drinks. But the owner does not appreciate his regular customers. Rather spend my money at Limoncello, dolce zola, etc

We had the weirdest experience ever at Bar Avalon a few months back. We were with a party of six and the reservation was under my name. Our food / the service overall was Ok. A few of dishes were cold (not mine, mine was good), and my one friend's salad was bad -- she gave the feedback to the server (who was awful and rude) and we thought all was handled at the time. The manager took off the bad meal and that was that. Not a huge deal. We had been several times prior without issue. So we considered it a fluke and attempted to go back and give it another try. Upon trying to call and make a reservation under my name I was told I was "banned" from making reservations in the future because I was "too hard to please" and that there are plenty of restaurants in WC that I should "go somewhere else". I thought they had the wrong person or it was a joke or something. But nope. I was in total shock as the whole issue with the meals wasn't even major and it was resolved when we left that night. And it's laughable b/c my meal was totally fine, I didn't even complain. But I was singled out b/c my name was on the reservation. This experience, when I tell people, still lives on as one of the strangest experiences with a local business owner EVER. And believe me, I share this experience because of how horrible the owner was to me and my husband. My husband called and asked to speak to the owner, John, to get some clarification and he was beyond unprofessional, extremely defensive, obnoxious, and super aggressive. So, in the end, I highly recommend taking the owner's advice -- there are PLENTY of other great restaurants in WC that want your business, that are grateful, and that can handle constructive feedback when appropriate. To the owner, John, you're a trip, buddy -- not sure how you've managed to stay in business as long as you have. After dealing with you I truly feel bad for your staff.

This place is a hidden gem in Pennsylvania. It is a must if you are in the Philadelphia area. From the drinks, appetizers to the main entrée are simply amazing. They also made my Martini from scratch.Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free friendly

My rating is more 3.5 than it is a straight 3.I must mention that my decision to visit Bar Avalon was influenced by the hilarious Instagram videos done by the owner. The entertaining content on social media piqued my curiosity and contributed to my decision to give the restaurant a try.My recent visit to Bar Avalon left me with mixed feelings, leaning towards disappointment. Although I didn't delve into the entrees so my review might change if I go back. The truffle fries stole the spotlight with their delectable garlic aioli. However, it's challenging to go awry with fries. The ricotta goat cheese spread failed to impress, lacking flavor and accompanied by a meager portion of bread. Similarly, while the buffalo chicken arancini boasted good texture and flavor, the blue cheese sauce fell flat, lacking the expected punch.Moving on to desserts, the lemon cream cake showed promise but lacked the zesty punch of lemon and suffered from a slightly dry texture. Conversely, the crispy beignets offered a pleasing crunch and flavor but left a sense of incompleteness. On the positive side, Bar Avalon offers decent happy hour deals, with a commendable beer selection that pleased my husband. However, the service experience was marred by a bartender who appeared rude and overwhelmed by the crowded bar. While I understand the challenges of a busy establishment, the lack of attentiveness and overall demeanor left much to be desired. In conclusion, Bar Avalon has its moments, but inconsistencies in both food and service prevent it from truly shining. With some improvements in flavor profiles and customer interactions, it could fulfill its potential as a go-to Italian spot.

The drinks off the menu are solid. I like coming here on Friday nights. It's not a college crowd but still young and fun. The bartender is very nice and relatively attentive no matter how busy they are.

We stopped in on a Friday early evening during restaurant week in February. The bar area right inside the door was pretty full. We had a reservation and were seated in the dining room. Our server was friendly, attentive and quick. We had some cocktails and they were very good. The menu looked fantastic. Our meal was fantastic. We shared the bacon wrapped dates for an app and the tomato, spinach and burrata pasta - we added shrimp. Both were delicious but the dessert stole the show. Flourless chocolate torte - melt in your mouth chocolatey paradise. I almost licked the plate. Parking was on the street. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. Bathrooms were clean and fresh. I would absolutely come here again when in the area.

This place does not disappoint! Went here the other night for my husband's birthday, and we enjoyed everything! We had the calamari, tortellini Alfredo with blackened chicken, lamb bolognese, and the chocolate budhino for dessert. So so good! Both times we've been here, Ava has been our server and she is incredible. The area around the bar can get pretty noisy so if you want a quieter space, ask for the room off to the side!
