After you enjoy lunch or dinner at one of the many nearby choices, stroll on over to this delightful walk-up location, right on the wonderfully eclectic Gay Street. The storefront captures the essence of West Chester's European-inspired food and art scene, complete with fresh flowers adoring the brick facade and al fresco seating. Really sets a positive mood. Many flavor options to choose from. The gelato is buttery, soft, and full of life. Not too heavy, but very satisfying. I particularly enjoy the tiramisu, while my wife enjoys the hazelnut chocolate. Reasonably priced and we enjoyed our dessert at a small, nearby table for two. Our servers were friendly and happy to let us try new flavors before we ordered. Even with a small line, they moved quickly and no one had a wait very long for their orders. Highly recommended.

We were in the area and had to try this iconic gelato. I had a scoop of peach marscapone and a scoop of pistachio, and my dining partner had a chocolate. They were both decadent and extremely flavorful. There was quite a line but it moved really quickly. They were out of the flavors we wanted to try at that time of the evening but we truly enjoyed what we selected.

I've always loved gelato from D'Ascenzo's. It's the perfect way to cap off a night out in WC, so when I found out that I'm lactose intolerant, to say I was devastated would be dramatic but not wrong. I still miss my ultimate cup combo: a small with banana and butter cookie. It's the best.Luckily, they have rotating vegan flavors and I got to try the peanut butter a couple of weekends ago. I was blown away! It's SO good, and you'd never know it was vegan. I've had my fair share of disappointing almond milk "ice cream", so to know that I can come here and get my gelato/ice cream fix without feeling like I'm missing something really makes me happy. I will definitely be working my way through their other vegan flavors!

Wonderful gelato! My husband commented how it was so similar to what we had in Italy. I loved my mix of Belgian Butter Cookie and Vanilla! Will definitely be back the next time we’re in the area!

Easy to walk up and order from a window. Comparable price and portion size to other gelato shops. We shared a small with the flavors Carmel Sea Salt and Philadelphia Cheesecake and they were both delicious. Especially that sea salt flavor in the carmel one. They do have seating outside so you can enjoy it sitting down.
