Ground Provisions

Years ago, and long before we retired and hit the road, we were lucky enough to get a last minute reservation to Vedge while in Philadelphia. So when we heard that a sister restaurant opened in historic Dillworthtown we were excited. While back in the Philadelphia area, we finally visited to celebrate a birthday. While not a place we can routinely visit due to the cost, it was an outstanding place for a celebration. Everything from talking to the owners to the food was excellent. The building was charming, the staff was great, and the food was elevated and amazing. We could not have asked for a better night. We definitely recommend visiting. We suggest making a reservation since it was busy during our visit on a weekday.

I had the FARMER'S FEAST tasting menu. Rye Sourdough Baguette carrot pastrami, onion schmaltz, carrot bisque Seared Filderkraut Cabbage braised black lentils, tomato brodo Charcoal Grilled Sweet Potato fermented chile, root puree, radish chimichurri Hand-Cut Pappardelle celery root fonduta, escarole, toasted almond Portabella Steak truffled pomme puree, hakurei turnips, bordelaise Chocolate Budino toasted hazelnut, espresso cream, candied orange, lingue di gatto

Ground Provisions and Vedge are my favorite restaurants!

Definitely the best meal I’ve had as a vegan, and probably the best meal I’ve had in my life. As my mom commented, it is easy to serve fancy meat at a restaurant because it tastes good just by cooking it, but it takes skill to make vegetables so special. Each course had unique, delicious flavors

I love everything about this restaurant, but my favorite is by far the seasonally changing menu. Every season the chef offers unique and creative dishes. From first course to dessert, absolutely recommend. If they have it, get the cashew cheese plate!

We love coming here and sitting on the porch in good weather. Enjoying the amazing food and just relaxing- plus the a’la carte option. Fun place for celebrations!

We love vedge. So when ground provisions opened, we were thrilled to have this option closer to our house. This was our 4th time at ground provisions, having dined there for the fixed menu and wine pairing during our other visits. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary. We saw that the bar menu was different, therefore booked a bar seat assuming we'd have the option of both bar and fixed menus and not seeing any menu restrictions on the website about bar seat reservations. Upon arrival, we were told that since we made a reservation, we were restricted to the fixed menu. When we expressed our confusion and disappointment, the manager came over, noting that he'd seen on our account that we'd visited 3x and telling us that he'd put a note on our account so this wouldn't happen again. He also commented about needing to justify the space, so although he brought the bar menu over to us, we felt pressured and ultimately ordered the fixed menu again. Upon closing our meal from the bar, he was behind the bar but said nothing to us. We have been thanked for dining with ground provisions each time we exited the restaurant, but this time no one said anything as we exited. Although we love the food and bar here, we will not be back until management changes because the comments expressed to us made us feel unwelcome.

This was our first time here, but we will definitely be back. We loved everything about the tasting menu. The corn bread with tomatoes was a good way to start. We loved the squash salad and the risotto cake and lobster mushroom was perfect. Service was amazing, and the atmosphere was relaxing.

Had a lovely anniversary dinner on the patio. This concept feels more farm to table than vedge/fancy radish. Great meal, service and beautiful setting. The wine paring was creative and fun. I’m excited to return.
