Best Coffee in the area
Great coffee and food. It was a very cute place I accidentally stumbled upon and I'm happy I did! Very friendly staff and great atmosphere! I would recommend the veggie hummus sandwich.
Coffee is great always have some fun combos to try, the atmosphere is relaxed and chill to be in.
I don’t know what their secret is, but they have the best cappuccino I’ve ever had. Incredibly smooth, with an intense (in a good way), multidimensional flavor profile, plus a dreamy, airy froth that holds up over time without going flat. Plus the people who work there are genuinely nice without coffee house affectation. They have me coming back again and again.
What an amazing coffee house!! They have indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is super friendly and personable, and they made my iced mint tea to perfection. They have gorgeous artwork on the walls (and it's for sale!!), while there's soothing hip music playing throughout the cafe. I love the sounds of coffee being made, too. And my fav thing about this place is the propagation station at the front. What an awesome thing! We need more plants in the world!! Lots of people doing work on their laptops or enjoying a good book.
Yummy matcha and croissant! Loved seeing Shy Fox Studio paintings on the walls!
I recently visited Gryphon Cafe with high hopes, especially given its reputation for serving excellent coffee. However, my experience fell short due to several disappointing factors that make it difficult to recommend this spot.
Firstly, the café has a baffling system regarding its menu. There is no readily available menu for customers to browse—just a single paper copy to be shared. Even more frustrating, the menu doesn’t include prices. This extends to the coffee options listed on the board; there are no prices displayed anywhere. As a result, you’re left asking the staff about the cost of every single item- which quickly becomes tedious and uncomfortable.
Secondly, the staff’s attitude left much to be desired. They were caustic and unfriendly, and visibly inconvenienced when requesting silverware when served, making the experience far less enjoyable than it could have been. Customer service is a cornerstone of any café experience, and unfortunately, the team here simply seemed disinterested and uninvested in creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Another inconvenience is the lack of self-serve water. If you’d like a glass of water, you need to ask for it and then wait until the staff finishes other orders. This detail adds to the sense that yet again, customer comfort is not a priority at this establishment.
While it’s true that the coffee here is very good, it’s simply not enough to offset these frustrations.
Fortunately, there are numerous cafe choices within 1-3 blocks, such as Mayday Café which offers a stark contrast. There you will find a full menu with prices!) readily available, a friendly and professional staff, and an overall experience that values the customer’s time and comfort.
While the coffee at Gryphon may be worth trying, the lack of basic amenities, clear pricing, and warm service make it hard to justify a visit. Maybe this was an off day, but save yourself the hassle and head to any one of the other upscale coffee cafe options (like Mayday Café) instead—you’ll be glad you did. My colleagues and I will not waste our time again.

Coffee was excellent, staff was friendly, and I love that you can trade a plant propagation!
Best latte I've ever had, hands down!
Amazing coffee and pastries, friendly stuff, simple but nice interior and atmosphere
I hate to leave this review I've been coming here since 2020. I went in for coffee today and they messed up my order, and genuinely I didn't like my drink. I don't like to complain but when I'm spending $8 on just a coffee stop, I think it's reasonable to ask for something, in this case I asked for some honey.
I want to say the girl running the register was really nice but the girl making the drinks was not. I super politely told her I have come here often but it just wasn't the same today and my drink tasted burnt. She told me it wasn't. Genuinely, I do not care if the roast was or wasn't, I did not care for it. She then poured me honey into a cup and handed it to me and asked me to get out of the way because they need to put drinks down there.
Again, I go there often and have only requested a drink remake maybe once in the last 5 years so I don't think I was difficult at all as a regular and this is is really embarrassing service.
Great coffee, seating, and atmosphere.
