I received a set of gift cards as an apology earlier this year, as we had long standing reservations for my birthday, but the restaurant closed for a special occasion and did not notify us (though we did receive repeated text reminders to make those reservations). They were already expired, but the manager initialed them saying he was extending them and was profusely apologetic and lovely.
We tried to use these cards recently for my husband’s birthday. However, Mercato would not honor them, explaining that that manager had been fired and it was “against policy”.
Whether a manager violates policy or leaves the company, these issues should not be taken out on customers. We have been to Mercato many times, and enjoyed it in the past, but this is two special occasions this year that have ended in disappointment. I don’t want to visit a place that makes promises and then breaks them when they become inconvenient.

What an amazing experience! We got the calms as an appetizer, lobster ravioli, veal Mercado for our main meals, and we had the pleasure of being taken care of by Lexi. She was always checking in, had an outstanding knowledge of the menu, and took great care of my husband and I (not to mention she was hilarious). While the food was amazing, Lexi made our time at Mercado special.

Came in to eat with my husband and daughter after a long day hoping for some good food. With suggestions from our delightful server Lexi, got the Penne Vodka which was to die for. My daughter loved the calamari appetizer and my husband devoured the Lobster Ravioli. Besides the incredible food, Lexi’s service was exceptional. She was attentive, friendly, and a joy to be around. She truly made our experience better! We will be back.

Amazing experience on Saturday night. Food was great. Grouper was great and good size. Veal Riviera, substituted linguini for mashed potatoes. A little annoying that pasta was a $5.00 up charge. Server was very nice, attentive. A little loud but it was a Saturday 😂. Definitely a place we’ll come back to.

Graduation early dinner, 8 people, one handicapped using a motorized scooter. Excellent location, parking garage across the street and minutes from campus Hollinger Hall. Normally out of price range for students, however, an immense reward for your graduate! Extensive menu, every plate had justice done to it and really good drinks. Definitely must make a reservation, otherwise, you won't be eating there and it is worth every dollar. A meal your graduate and you will remember for a long time.

Service has been consistently going downhill. It seems to be a revolving door of inexperienced young employees who spend more time talking to each other than taking care of customers. Had to leave without ordering last night after being forgotten about. Shame because some of the dishes are fantastic.

Worst Customer service I have ever experienced. Better to say lack of service as we never even got our food. Waiter took a while to get to us, once he did we ordered our drinks and an appetizer. He took a bit to come back to take our order. Once we placed our order he never came back to the table. We got no refills at all no check ups. The finished appetizer plate just sat there. He passed our table three times speed walking didn't stop once to ask if we needed refills. As I saw him for the next 20-25 mins serve everyone else and everyone get their food. I finally called over a different waited to our table. I asked her to see if our waiter was planning on ever coming back to our table. She went to talk to him and told us they were short staffed. The only issue with that was that we were the only ones not getting service. Every table had food and were getting refills. I asked if our food was coming out soon. She walked away to check just to come back and say he never even placed our order. I asked for the check and asked for the manager. The manager came over and just apologized instead of talking to the waiter. He said he can place our orders at that time. After an hour of being there with no food. I simply stated that at that point I did not even feel comfortable eating there. He didn’t charge us for the appetizer which I appreciate. Not sure why we were the only ones in the whole restaurant not getting serve. I would never eat here again nor tell anyone to come here. I would suggest staying away from this place if you want good customer service.
