We enjoyed a small wedding celebration at Mercato last weekend. Everything about our visit was just terrific and our host and servers could not have been more helpful and accommodating.

It is definitely not Guiseppe's anymore.. The food is fine for lunch, but don't waste your money for dinner. The atmosphere is cold and bland. The TVs make it feel like a PJ's where you'd go to see a game on a Sunday afternoon. When we asked for dessert, a menu tent was plopped on the table. Too many other finer establishments nearby to visit instead.

I came in tonight prior to going to the Bates Motel. We were extremely worried about getting seated without having a reservation. The host Emma seated at immediately, I was surprised as how busy the restaurant was. Our server Jerry came over immediately, we weren’t ready to order but he provided us with the menus and told us about the specials. He even told us about the famous espresso martini which we started with because we needed a jolt before our night out. They came with bread and an amazing red sauce which was incredible, still thinking about it. The Manager, if I can remember I think his name was Josh. he came over twice throughout the evening and he recommend multiple dishes and I went for one of the chefs specials and my wife went with the chicken parm off the menu. We weren’t able to finish it all only because of the portion size. We took it to go and I’m looking forward to eating it tomorrow. This will now be my go to place in West Chester, thank you all for a very special birthday dinner.

The dining experience was disappointing- much too loud and too many people to serve without help. Too long a wait for food- sad to say will not be returning to the West Chester restaurant - the Newtown Square restaurant will be our choice next time. Our waitress was very apologetic with the chaos of the evening. Zoe was very polite and tried her best. The food was good when it finally arrived!

Hosted a client dinner here last night and have nothing but great things to say about this place. They allowed us to make a huge reservation in advance and even placed us downstairs in their private room. Additionally, they were very accommodating in allowing us to go above and beyond with our clients. The food was excellent but very affordable and the staff was very friendly! Lastly, they had music playing down in the private room and not only was the volume at perfect level, they were playing banger after banger! 10/10!
We took at an outside table by request, sat for 15 minutes. I had to get another waiter to check. Apparently, the waiter for our table didn't come in.. weird, but we got another waiter assigned.
The waiter was good at first.
Two of our party ordered the steak special, which was a New york strip. I have to add that I haven't been to Mercato in 2 years, but back then, their NY strip was the best you could get at the price point, about $40 back then.
Both were ordered medium/rare.
Both came out very rare, large cold center. And they CUT the steak into large strips... and I guess decided it was right.
It wasn't. So they took them back on the grill, which works fine for a steak that wasn't cut into pieces.... what came out was medium/well.
In addition, that was no NY strip. The meat had zero taste, zero fat, was mealy when chewing it. This was the same for both steaks.
I only took one bite and told the waiter that the steaks were unacceptable and we would not eat them. Didn't eat the sides either.
The waiter just says "sorry you guys didn't like the food" after I pointed out the problems. Took them and left.
Comes out 10 minutes later with the check. WITH 2 STEAKS AT $65 EACH. I can go to a real steakhouse for that, and it was garbage, and we didn't eat them.
We had to ask for the manager, which the waiter should automatically have done.
After a long wait, he came out. I explained again what the problems were. He offered another dish, which we declined. We were just done.
The manager finally took off the steaks.
My wife's pasta dish was dry with very thin and dry "blackened chicken," edible but just bad. She ate half because she was hungry.
Overall, it is easily the worst food I've had in years. Then, the attempt to charge for it.
Mercato has lost its way completely and will not host us again.

Addison despite being new, was attentive, knowledgable, and kind throughout the duration of the service. Management must be doing something right!

We had a really bad experience and we were SO excited to try this place. Service was bad (she forgot to bring us every thing we asked for) and slow. We didn't get any type of food (bread, appetizers, etc) until an hour and 15 minutes in. We got our dry, tasteless food at the 2 hour mark of being there and we were so disappointed. Will not be back.
