I really wanted to like this place a lot, it looked so promising . The decor is super cute and definitely photo worthy. We were a party of 5 crammed into a table for 4 in a corner. There was no room on the table for all the teapots and plates and teacups and food. It was very difficult to maneuver everything. The reservation was booked way in advance so I was hoping we would have had a proper table for our party. We were celebrating a birthday and there was no special detail for a birthday, no candle or anything. Which is fine, we didn’t really ask but we did mention in the reservation. While we were cramped on the tiny table (one of the chairs was butting out into the walkway with loads of people and staff constantly passing behind ,), they started to clear the table next to ours and to our shock they just started throwing the food and crumbs that were on the table to the floor as they wiped the table to get it ready for the next party. The food came and for 5 people it was all cramped onto one tiered stand. There was one ounce sized dollop of lemon curd and clotted cream for the 5 of us. The desserts were falling apart from being pile do to the same plate. The deserts were not particularly good. The Apple crumble was underbaked. The snickers candy tasting bar was messy and falling apart. The scones were good and the sandwiches weren’t bad. Nothing crazy though. I would have liked something with a little more flavor, not something I could easily prepare at home. The quiche was actually my favorite thing I ate. It was tasty. The tea selection I also thought was good. The service was not the best. No one came to check on whether we needed more water or tea. We had to ask for more. And the teapots looked like they had never been scrubbed on the inside. Ever!!!! We’ve had a lot of other high tea experiences in the area and this one just did not live up to the hype. The restaurant looks super cute and is well decorated but I wish the staff had been more attentive, and the food, particularly the desserts need some major overhauls. Lastly I visited the bathroom before leaving and the wooden floor was so rotted that the heel from my stiletto shoe fell through the floor and I was temporarily stuck. Like I said there was so much potential here and I wanted to give this place a better rating but it was not deserved on this particular visit.
Here for my grandmother’s 94th birthday. They were amazing and the food is Devine!
We had an excellent experience here! Food and tea were so delicious. And it was beautiful inside. We will definitely be back! Go try it!!!

Great service and delicious food! Quaint atmosphere too. Been here several times and plan to be back again. Love how they change menus monthly and hold special events. If you haven’t been here yet, I highly recommend it. You won’t be disappointed.
I had tea with my daughter and one of the sandwiches had grey ham on it. I spoke to the person in charge and she assured me that the ham was a different color due to exposure to light?!? She did take $5.00 off the bill. What I learned from this experience was that the quality control in the kitchen is zero. The tea and service were fine but I have no confidence in the food quality. Would not go back.
Mimi’s is charming and delightful! We enjoyed our tea luncheon and look forward to visiting again! The quiche and sandwiches were very flavorful and the scones were scrumptious! The various sweets for dessert were delicious. All of our food tasted freshly prepared. The selection of teas was amazing, offering every variety you could want. The location of Mimi’s is convenient to the parking garage so we had no trouble finding parking in WC! Mimi’s Tea Cottage is a lovely addition to a great town!

Mimi’s was a dream! I’ve been in the Exton area for only about a year and was looking at nearby places to have my bridal shower and stumbled upon Mimi’s on a walk in West Chester! The decor was beautiful and I loved that the tea cups had the napkins folded like roses - I’ve never seen that before! The food exceeded any and all expectations! The potato leek soup was amazing, and everyone was immediately raving about it! I’m not a big quiche person… but I ate my whole dang quiche! Its was so fluffy, with perfectly melty pieces of guyere! The tea sandwiches were the perfect size, they accommodated to have my food gluten free for me, but when I tell you I tried that gluten free blueberry scone my jaw dropped! I had everyone at my table try it because I couldn’t believe it was gluten free!! The BEST scones of my life! My 8 year old niece is a picky eater and couldn’t stop telling everyone how delicious everything was! They also brought her out the cutest tea pot filled with hot cocoa, with a side of marshmallows - they truly made it such a memorable experience for everyone there! We all left full and couldn’t stop raving about the food! We ended up going a little past our designated time (we had family and friends traveling from out of state so it meant a lot that they let us take our time getting things sorted and leaving)! Karen & Ginny were so accommodating from start to finish, they were very communicative and so helpful day of! Having my bridal shower at Mimi’s made it so special - I couldn’t have asked for a better day and I’m beyond thankful!

I went with two friends today. Upon first entering Mimi’s, I was struck by the beautiful decor and atmosphere. They have a pink telephone booth in the entry way, and were piping in the Bridgerton soundtrack. All three of us ordered “the Ivy,” which included a pot of tea (unlimited), selection of tea sandwiches, scone (blueberry was delicious), and a selection of tiny desserts. We were seated next to a large party that was there when we arrived. Our reservation was for 11am. At 12:07, our waitress comes over and said “just wanted to let you know you are approaching your 90 minute time limit.” That was when I looked at my watch. We expressed that we didn’t know there was such a limit, and she mentioned it was on their website. A few minutes before she told us this, a group of about 4-6 women came in with balloons, and we assumed it was for some kind of shower. They put their things at the 6 top next to us. They were standing and seemed like they were waiting for more of their party to arrive.
Our lovely experience was definitely soured. If you have a time limit, kindly state it when we are seated, so that we know ahead of time. We didn’t even get our tea and food right away - this is not our fault. I didn’t see anyone ask the large party seated next to us that was there when we arrived to “pack it up.” Also, if you know you have a shower or event that day, why not reserve the tables you need? There were two other 2 tops in the room where we were; why didn’t they seat us elsewhere? I know our waitress was only the messenger, but this was clearly mishandled, and soured our experience.

An absolutely lovely tea experience this afternoon with my ladies. The cottage decor is adorable and the ambience is comfortable . Great selection of various teas. We thoroughly enjoyed the homemade goodies - tomato basil soup, quiche, scrumptious scones, tea sandwiches and mini-desserts. A must visit for tea enthusiasts when in West Chester!

Had a lovely time! Tea was delicious, would just recommend a stir in the pot before pouring. For some reason it started out weak and got stronger as I poured. Food was good, scone was so delicious. Desserts were so good and yummy! Sandwiches were ok. I would return again! So beautiful and loved it.
