The food was outstanding! Our server was attentive but not hovering and offered great suggestions.
Never disappoints. Great meal, great service!
WC has over sixty restaurants and Spence Cafe is our favorite of all. Intimate dining experience with always excellent menu options prepared by Andrew Patton, owner/chef, who's one of the best in the county. When the weather is nice, their backyard patio is lovely. And BYOB to boot!
Really nice place. Seemed like a nice quiet setting. Came for an event.. food was excellent (short ribs over parsnip puree and root veggies) . Definitely need to try..I believe they are byob.. not 100% sure on that.
Another of West Chester’s fine restaurants deserving of the accolades, especially if you appreciate taking your own wine to dinner. Great service, great food. If they’re having a special, order it! Can’t wait to go again!

Was lucky enough to get a last minute reservation on a Saturday night and enjoyed our food. Started with the seafood soup which had some good chunks of lobster, clams, potatoes, and more. It had good flavor and I would definitely get it again. Next I ordered the seared halibut with saffron risotto and lobster tarragon sauce. The halibut itself was a little dry, but the sear was done well. Luckily the saffron risotto and lobster sauce were delicious and was a perfect complement to the somewhat dry halibut. My wife got the special Cajun wild stripped bass. She said the flavor was good, but expected a little more bite with the “Cajun” descriptor. Our server was delightful and helpful. Everything explained with patience and a smile. And the atmosphere was perfect for the start to a night out.
TIP- don’t forget to BYOB!!

We celebrated Mom’s 90th birthday in a private setting at Spence's. Andrew had fantastic food for us and Gina was the ultimate server making sure everyone was happy including the birthday girl.
Truly a stellar experience.
Thanks to all. I can't think of a better venue.

Had my daughters wedding shower here yesterday. Everything from the atmosphere to the food to the details were so on point! Big shout out to manager Gina and her staff for making this day extra special. I’d give it a 5000 out of 5 if I could ? can’t wait to come back and enjoy a nice dinner ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We went here for the first time for our anniversary. The server was a nice friendly guy. We enjoyed our meal very much. The key lime pie at the end topped it off well!

Clam bake, crab cakes and veal with scallops. Our family had our typical excellent experience at Spence. Everything beyond tasty and great service.

We received our entrees an hour after we were seated at 9 pm. My son ordered the pan seared bass and the crab spanikopita and hearts of palm salad, the sides were awful. Some of the worst flavor combinations I’ve tasted. He was sick to his stomach the rest of the evening and despite the waiter saying he would do what he could about the dish there was no offer to replace it or a discount. The table was wobbly all night and despite asking twice for it to be stabilized they didn’t. They were busy but that’s par for the course. Explains why nobody greeted us when we arrived. I’ve eaten here 4 times now and each time the experience gets worse. Sorry to say I have no interest in returning. It’s far too expensive for this.

Lovely atmosphere and service, but the food did not live up to the exhorbitant prices. The sea bass was not good (slimy, odd texture, pink). I only took a few bites and the sides were very good, but I was only credited $14 on a $45 entree despite only eating the sides. I do not plan to return.
