Wonderful to find fine dining, relaxed but efficient service and byob all in the same place. Wonderful experience last evening.

Lovely atmosphere and service, mediocre, bland food, quite overpriced. Even the bread pudding wasn’t anything but barely average. The food is lacking flavor all around. Our server was wonderful and the atmosphere was lovely

Wonderful meal! Delicious small plates that we shared. Especially loved the bruschetta! All of our party of 4 loved our entrees. Rosemary rack of lamb crusted with honey goat cheese was excellent. Beautiful ambience subdued and classy yet unpretentious. Chris was our waiter…tops in every way. Just the right amount of attention. Spence Cafe remains to be our favorite West Chester restaurant.

Never disappoints. Great meal, great service!
WC has over sixty restaurants and Spence Cafe is our favorite of all. Intimate dining experience with always excellent menu options prepared by Andrew Patton, owner/chef, who's one of the best in the county. When the weather is nice, their backyard patio is lovely. And BYOB to boot!
Really nice place. Seemed like a nice quiet setting. Came for an event.. food was excellent (short ribs over parsnip puree and root veggies) . Definitely need to try..I believe they are byob.. not 100% sure on that.

Another of West Chester’s fine restaurants deserving of the accolades, especially if you appreciate taking your own wine to dinner. Great service, great food. If they’re having a special, order it! Can’t wait to go again!

Was lucky enough to get a last minute reservation on a Saturday night and enjoyed our food. Started with the seafood soup which had some good chunks of lobster, clams, potatoes, and more. It had good flavor and I would definitely get it again. Next I ordered the seared halibut with saffron risotto and lobster tarragon sauce. The halibut itself was a little dry, but the sear was done well. Luckily the saffron risotto and lobster sauce were delicious and was a perfect complement to the somewhat dry halibut. My wife got the special Cajun wild stripped bass. She said the flavor was good, but expected a little more bite with the “Cajun” descriptor. Our server was delightful and helpful. Everything explained with patience and a smile. And the atmosphere was perfect for the start to a night out.
TIP- don’t forget to BYOB!!

We celebrated Mom’s 90th birthday in a private setting at Spence's. Andrew had fantastic food for us and Gina was the ultimate server making sure everyone was happy including the birthday girl.
Truly a stellar experience.
Thanks to all. I can't think of a better venue.
