Wow 32 food inspection violations. Split Rail’s owner has got to get it together. She never takes accountability for anything. That is so gross. Such a failed establishment from food to customer service.
Split Rail is my new favorite spot in West Chester! I went for dinner this past weekend and our server was Katie. She was so knowledgeable about the menu and the beer! She is a wealth of beer information! The service is as undeniably good and so was the food. Best steak I’ve ever eaten. Cooked to perfection. Could not be happier with our experience!

I had dinner at Split Rail last night. The service was absolutely impeccable. Thank you, Jack, you’re a true king! I ordered the clams and linguini and it was absolutely beyond. My friend got lobster ravioli and it was so good! Blown away by my experience! OH, the Split Rail old fashioned is hands down the best alcoholic beverage in West Chester! KEEP IT UP!

Hate to leave this type of a review at a restaurant that I once loved. This place has completely gone down hill. I loved coming here for brunch or a beer and burger. Now there are cockroaches climbing on the booths and the food has me running to the bathroom. So upset because this was my go to spot, but after today I don’t think I’ll be back. I completely get it if management is unaware, but they are— and they are still staying open for service. Also, don’t expect your server to say anything other than- sweet, thanks for letting me know.Apparently there is some sort of infestation next door owned by the same person that owns the property that split rail rents. I understand the frustration on managements part, but they should ABSOLUTELY not be open for business when customers can see ROACHES climbing on the walls behind them.I hope they get things figured out, but I’m not sure I’ll ever be back.Would not recommend, at least for a while.

I have lived in West Chester for years and Split Rail is my go to spot! The food is incredible! There is always a great variety of tasty beers, ciders and craft cocktails. The atmosphere is unmatched, everyone that works there makes you feel like family!

Went to split rail with my friends last night for dinner! Such a cute place, and the food looked amazing. Two of us got the Salmon BLT, and one got the steak. As we were walking home immediately the sandwich hurt my stomach. 3 hours later I was throwing up from 11-2am and woke up still doing the same. my friend who also ate the salmon blt was having the same symptoms. I called this morning to tell the manager that we got sick and all he had to basically say was “you don’t know what you’re talking about because food poisoning takes longer than 30 minutes to process”. I never said it was food poisoning! Could have been anything that made us sick. & then he hung up the phone on me. If you are going to manage a restaurant you think you would know how to treat customers with respect. Embarrassing!!
Currently eating at bar, food so good I felt I had to leave review before I forgot to. Ok so portion size is insanely large, zero chance I can finish pork sandwich with side salad. Salad is huge, and sandwich is perfect in taste and quantity. Awesome beer selection. Pickle brine chix sandwich is awesome as well.
Have eaten here numerous times and it is usually consistently good. Went yesterday with a large party and our food was poorly prepared for everyone at the table. A number of salads came dripping in dressing, making them essentially inedible. Those who got French fries with their sandwiches were served badly undercooked potatoes. Floppy and gross. I'll go back because I know they can do better, and usually do, but last night's meal was really bad. Also, one entree came about 10 minutes after all the others as the original version was served to another table and it had to be remade. Very disappointing.
Great service and food. My friend and I got the fried chicken sandwich and it was massive. Other friend got the veggie burger and she liked it a lot. Very warm in the restaurant but it was packed especially for a Wednesday night!
We visit every year from Colorado for the mussels. We took friends last night and Sarah was AWESOME! We had mussels and chicken wings, both delicious ?

Back to visit hoping for another great experience. Let me tell ya what, the Bartender Gilly is Awesome! and makes some great drinks. Bar was not busy and his guy is hilarious! Stop in and see him
We ate inside and there were very few people inside so it wasn't as noisy as our winter visits. Our server was friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Food was delicious and my lemon drop martini was not too sweet, not too sour, not too boozy - just right. My husband loved his beer - WeldWerks Juicy Bits IPA.
Well, one hair in the pasta and one hair in the salad makes us never return. We didn't report it because it was clear that our server was lacking experienced and had no personality or attendance to boot. Plus there was no upstairs seating so we were downstairs and not very date like with all the bar noise. Sad for our anniversary dinner.
I spent a beautiful Spring night at Split Rail with friends. I had only ever been to Split Rail for the beer (which they do have a wide selection!), so it was fun to finally try their food! We very much enjoyed the wings, and the burger was delicious. If you're looking for a restaurant with a great beer selection and outdoor seating in the Borough, this is the place!
Dinner on March 25th, 2023. Service and food are good. I ordered the salmon emtree. It's very tasty. However, the portions could be better. My salmon filet 3inch by 3 inch. For 30 dollars I was expecting more.
