After several other restaurants were closed or closing we stopped at Watami Hibachi Steakhouse and grabbed a menu, just to see what some of the offerings were. After viewing the menu, I just blurted out steak and shrimp with noodles?!? I have sampled many different Asian dishes, but I was completely and totally blown away!!!!! This meal is the milestone by which ALL future experiences will be measured!!! It is HANDS DOWN the BEST MEAL I've had in recent memory. The taste, texture and flavor ranked an 89 on a scale of 1 to 10 and will be my only stop for Asian food PERIOD!!! If this is any indication of the other menu items. I might begin to try sushi and other items beyond my usual taste preferences.

You go here for the experience. My 11 yr old grandson loves this place and that's why we went. I ordered the shrimp and scallops. The scallops were ok (a little burnt, not seared, on the outside) but the shrimp were so over cooked they were chewy. I've never been to a hibachi where they cook the steak and chicken first while the seafood sits on the hot griddle and cooks. They also put a teriyaki seasoning on everything! I like teriyaki when I want it, but not on everything .My husband order the filet mignon med rare - it was more medium well. The chef was great and personable, but when the tricks out weight the proper cooking techniques, I'm out

The food was pretty good but the sushi we ordered was room temperature. They kept a skeleton crew on a Saturday night so it was hours to get through the meal. They said there were only 3 servers and the place was packed. Plus the restaurant was dirty. The grill had fod spattered around before they even began cooking. There were wet and sticky spots on the floor. The bathroom wasn't clean either.

Worst experience. Ordered Togo. They messed up my order so I drive 30 min back they wouldn't make me the correct one and give me a refund. They tried either giving me a refund or just a portion of the mess up awful business I will never go back and not recommend this place to anyone. Not how service should

We were excited to try this place after hearing rave reviews from multiple people. We live about an hour away but were told it would be worth the drive. So, we made reservations about a week in advance for a party of 4.Unfortunately, we had anything but a positive experience. The food was bad and the service was worse. I ordered the filet mignon with noodles. I’ve seen child portions which were larger than the portions we received (pic of my plate included). The consensus from all parties at the grill which consisted of our party of 4, a party of 2, and another party of 4 was that the noodles and rice were charred and crunchy; the veggies were mushy; the portions were not filling; and the proteins were over cooked.Everyone at the table except my husband and I had been to Watami on multiple occasions and all stated that the food and service were a huge disappointment this visit. They said the food tasted nothing like previous visits and that the same ingredients weren’t even used. (For example, no teriyaki sauce on the “fried rice”. It was basically burned white rice with soy sauce.)My drink was good though (chocolate martini)…good enough that I wanted a second one. Unfortunately, the server never came back to our table throughout our entire meal so we were all unable to get refills on our drinks…despite trying numerous times to get her attention. And 2 people from the party of 4 never received the white rice they ordered in place of fried rice despite asking for it numerous times. They asked the chef and I even saw them get up from the table and track down the waitress to ask. But they still hadn’t received it when the waitress finally showed back up to bring us our checks.I’d like to believe this was just a bad night for Watami…but we won’t risk it again. With drinks and a few sushi rolls we shared as apps, it was almost $200 for 4 people (which is about the same as any other hibachi)…except here we all left hungry when we usually all leave with take home boxes!I’ll stick with Fusion in Washington, PA for now on. I’ve never had a bad meal there.

A large party of about 22 people were there for dinner and they sat us in a room where there was storage of napkins, dishes etc. waiters kept coming in to get things that I felt like I was sitting in the kitchen. If I ever go back, I will never sit in that room again. If they can't seat me in an appropriate table, I'll leave.Food was ok, just like any other Japanese habashi restaurant.Parking: Many parking dpotsKid-friendliness: Friendliness

I take it back, my previous review of this Restaurant!!! I don’t know how it happened, but this place is the now the greatest Japanese restaurant I have ever been to and I have been to many, everywhere! Real Entertainment, not the usual boring Fare, the most wonderful delicious food with lots of real BUTTER!!!, Extra large portions, I didn’t leave there still hungry as usual, and the next day had a great lunch with the remaining portions….Service that was unbelievable, the waiter couldn’t do enough for us and the best of the story was, he wasn’t of Japanese descent! Now comes my only bone of contention; my biggest complaint with any restaurant is that they refuse to add atmosphere by playing music that relates to the culture of the country they represent! Playing it low so people can hear it but still are able to talk above it. It always should be in the background so as to remind you that this is a Japanese restaurant that you are at, not McDonalds!!!Happy 2024 NEW YEAR !!! Try to visit this Hibachi Restaurant to start the year off right……
