I loved it here. I'm sorry it's closing. The dining room and the bar were both very enjoyable.

So I was looking for a new place to try in Reading, PA for lunch and Chef Alans came up in my search. It wasnt bad. My burger was very tasty. The thick cut bacon did not let me down. It really complemented the burger rather than just become part of the burger. The french fries were not crunchy and over cooked. They were hot crispy and still held its fluffiness in the potato. One of the reviews that I saw talked about the coleslaw. So I made sure to try it. I was not impressed at all. When I asked for more dressing she told me that she makes it fresh. I will definitely say that it was fresh but it did not have the coleslaw taste. It's literally tastes like eating raw cabbage. While it wasn't my favorite I won't order it again but everything else was filling. As always trying to find parking in Downtown Redding is not easy but there is a parking lot right next to it.It was a good try but it wasnt "it" for my taste. I would say that Chef Alans Restaurant did not stop on the portion sizes or the quality of food. You really did get fresh ingredients and a quality meal.

Parking: Parking is on the street and in the lot next door.

Wheelchair accessibility: There is a wheelchair ramp right in front.

Food was bad and the place inside looks very rundown. Looks like the place has not been touched up in 20+ years City was very crowded that night but place was empty. Felt like a restaurant that should be on Kitchen Nightmares.

The food was good and the one waitress we had was very nice, but it isn't the place to go unless you are very simple and want to agree with whatever the people here say. My aunt had a glass thrown at her when she asked the bartender here to remake her drink because the seltzer wasn't strong at all. The waitress who took our orders would not suggest any other options to people who wanted something they didn't "exactly" have. She would just say, "Well we don't have that." She even refused to give our guest a single cup of ice at the first request until my father talked some sense into her. The drinks from the bar never came out right, there would always be something wrong with it. I'd say you would have a better, cheaper experience at your local diners instead of coming over to here. Who knows, the food there might actually be better too from my experience at a diner in Exeter compared to here.

Used to work there way back. Left in December of 08. It was diner quality food back then. Looks like they've definitely upgraded. May have to try soon.

This was my first visit and WOW! Very nice place, quant ambiance, great food selections. The crab dip appetizer and Asian shrimp noodle bowl is excellent! Prices are reasonable four people could eat for under $100.00. Plenty of parking in lot next to entrance. Friendly staff. Nice open diningroom plus bar sections. I recommend!

I have eaten here for years and I've never had a bad meal! Excellent appetizers, great entrees and a very nice selection at the bar. The menu has everything from seafood & steaks, to pizza & delicious wings!

Good food fair price, this place has been in area for some time. Food and service made me wonder why we stayed away so long. Look forward to going back for the Easter brunch.

Clean, good service, basic lunch menu of well prepared food, but limited beer menu. A pleasant place to have lunch, but nothing special.

Fish and chips were very good--the fish was cooked perfectly, moist and flakey, and the "chips" turned out to be waffle-cut fries which were also perfectly cooked and salted. Glad I had malt vinegar at home though since it did not come with it.Caesar salad was a little heavy on the dressing but I did not ask for it on the side so I guess that's a little bit on me. The chicken on the salad was very good though. My wife said the California avocado burger was probably the best she's had since we moved here a little over a year ago.My mother-in-law reports that the chicken tenders were perfectly cooked, moist and very, um, tender. We're all too full to try the cheesecake right now but it looks pretty good as well. Our order was delivered by DoorDash. No issues to report.Prices seemed pretty reasonable, and the preparation time (at least on a Wednesday evening) was faster than expected. We will be ordering from Alan's again, thanks!

Wonderful lunch! It was more is, atmosphere was great a our waitress was on the ball. I noticed that there no other waitress in the room but she did a fantastic job getting everyone's orders out on split time.

Our experience this past weekend was wonderful! We celebrated my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends. We chose the Uptown Buffet. The haddock was amazing. All the food was hot and fresh. Alex, our server was very polite and attentive to our party. All of our guests had a great time! Thank you for the phenomenal service and food!!

We went there for Thanksgiving. It was a last minute decision and we did not have a reservation but they took us anyway. The food was hot and the service was good. They had a really nice spread out for Thanksgiving. I found the price to be a bit high at over $120 for 3 people but I have been there on a non-holiday and the price is reasonable. I will definitely visit there again.
