I got 3 seafood boils, fish, corn etc and spent almost 200 dollars on this food just for it to taste revolting.. The crab had barely to no meat, the shrimp was overcooked and had a rubbery texture. The shrimp was properly cleaned. Everything was mushy and it all had too much garlic to the point my whole family kept gagging every time they took a bite. The fish had ZERO taste! No seasoning at all. Just garlic. Never again!

My family and I really enjoy this restaurant. We found it recently and we have been going back every week since. Which says everything about how amazing the food is. It is a whole vibe. They are so kind and welcoming. We bring our baby with us and it is great for the whole family.

Mecca Caribbean and Sole is a very nice restaurant. It is owned by a family, and the three main workers are a mother, a daughter, and a sister. They are very kind people and provide great service. The food is very tasty and has love baked into it. They also serve a couple of homemade juices if you want a drink that you couldn't get anywhere else. They used to have a revolving menu that would change often, but since they had their popularity boom, and printed menus they haven't changed the menu much. They also often have a specialty dessert aside from the usual corn bread, and it is usually very good. They do have some specialty things like the seafood boil, but the regular menu ordering works like this. You choose what kind of meal you want. There are 3, the small meal comes with 1 meat and 2 sides, the large mela comes with 1 meat and 3 sides, and the mecca meal comes with 2 meats 3 sides and a dessert. I personally recommend the mecca meal because it is the best value, and trust me their offerings are so good that you will want to try more than you are able to. I personally recommend the grapefruit butter salmon, and pretty much all sea food dishes on the menu (they are my personal to get from there). I also recommend to always get the candied yams, and the cornbread. The cabbage, and the white rice are also quite good. Finally, personally I am not a big fan of homemade mac and cheese, so it isn't for me, but everyone who is a fan has said that their mac and cheese is to die for. If you try this place (which I recommend you do) I hope you love it just as much as I do!

Vegetarian options: The way that the meals work is you get a certain amount of meats and a certain amount of sides. Some of the sides like the candied yams, or rice, or cabbage is vegetarian.

Parking: You sort of just have to look along the streets around the establishment for a parking spot. It is up to you to find one.

Kid-friendliness: It is a very nice place owned by a family. Also there is no alcohol served there so it is a nice place for the family. All though there is no kids menu, so be sure to keep that in mind.

From the moment we walked in their door the vibes were lit!! Oh and let me tell yall...If yall ain't vibing and wanna lie about the family friendly environment they have, you don't deserve their cornbread thats like no other you ever had? What I love about these sisters is that they love to hold conversation with you! Had me feeling like I was one of the sisters lol I was about to ask where my apron was? These sisters got skills in the kitchen? If you want to be in an amazing food coma and not break the bank this is the place to be!! They also have no problem catering to your specific needs! For example....I can no longer eat spicy foods...They made me a different butter for my seafood boil...Still very flavorful! I greatly appreciated it and enjoyed every bite?? You can pre-order your food or simply walk in to order... Dont 4get to order their homade juices!! If your body needs a reset get their juices!! At the end of the day how can you not love the vibes here!? Thank you so much ladies! This been my spot since they opened and will continue to be!!Love always,Your Loyal favorite Libra ♎️ ?

I usually don’t do this but I got to bc I spent 60.00 on 2 platters !! I got oxtail platter with yams Mac and greens cone with the rice . The rice tasted burnt I smelled it as soon as I opened the box I could eat it and I didn’t want to be disrespectful but I mean how you got a soul food place and your rice isn’t right the yams where out a can and they added cinnamon and marshmallow and Mac and chz had so much pepper . The owner one of the sisters was talking to one of the tables a lot of rah rah going on another guy come in and it’s the same thing seems to be a lot more of there friends so there cussing a lot of crazy talk . Glad I didn’t bring my kids out ! Never again I’ll drive to Philly
