West Reading Tavern & Restaurant

Stopped by this place on a whim and was blown away! The staff was super friendly, and the food came out quickly. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich juicy, perfectly seasoned, and the fries were crisp and hot. Great prices for the portion size. Will definitely come back!

Food was mediocre and the service matched. My teenager said “it was mid.” For once, her and I agree. Their tagline says, “look for the big red door.” I say, look for the big red flags.

Brisket: dry, had to be drowned in the bbq sauce
Cole Slaw: watery
Shrimp: made my daughter (in her description) “nauseous”

Sever kept asking (4 separate times) if we wanted refills on drinks when our cups were clearly empty. Just bring the refills. Silverware didn’t hit the table until several minutes after our food was out. Servers should always communicate with the kitchen on 86’d items before starting their shift. It was a very unbusy lunchtime. My daughter originally ordered calamari, which was not available (and that’s okay). It’s a servers job to know that ahead of time instead of coming back to the table later, asking her to choose something else.

I don’t recommend West Reading Tavern. There are plenty of other choices along the avenue.

Reading Tavern offers a cozy atmosphere with remarkably delicious drinks and food. I had the raspberry Cosmo and it was fantastic! While I only had a Ceasar salad, it was DELICIOUS, and the other food being placed around the restaurant looked fabulous as well. I'll definitely be back!

I stopped in right around lunchtime with a colleague and was immediately seated and greeted. The dining room was just as you would find in most Western European pubs, which is pretty awesome.
We opted for the New England clam chowder and Tavern burgers. If you love clam chowder as I do, you absolutely have to have a few bowls. And the Tavern Burgers are very good as well!

We have been going to the West Reading Tavern (WRT) since they opened in the 1970s. We have never been disappointed. Great drinks, good beer selection, consistently excellent food. Our favorites are the salmon BLT, the burgers and the Reuben. We highly recommend a trip to the WRT!

We’ve eaten at this restaurant many times when we are in the area and it has always been excellent. The burgers are out of this world. Portions are good and the atmosphere is great. When we are in West Reading this is the first restaurant we go to. Service is great too. I highly recommend this restaurant for great food, drink, and atmosphere.

Fries consistently crispy, sandwiches to die for, service is responsive and accommodating.

Went for dinner with my girlfriend. She likes her burgers on the rare side and she said it was too undercooked for her. My burger wasn’t much better. Nether of them should’ve costed the $16 they did. The fries came out basically lukewarm and were just flat out bad. Service was slow despite the restaurant being mostly open. Atmosphere was ok the design of the place has always been nice so it has that going for it. Overall 2 stars cuz I feel like 1 stars get ignored but yeah this was a disappointing waste of 50 bucks

Great spot for a family lunch. Everything was super chill. Great decor and service. All the food, especially the tavern burger was fantastic!

Just left there went in person and they are so rude and racist treated me completely different from everyone around me wow it’s so sad for a business

Cheesesteak spring rolls and BBQ chicken sandwich were delicious

A great time! Ava our waitress was a fairy princess! She floated in and took care of everyone. Recommend the truffle fries, Lemon Meringue Martinis, Peppermint White Russians and Whisky Burger! The place was friendly and the music was fun. We had a great time 10/10 completely recommend!
