Antique shopping in Columbia and needed a place for lunch. Glad I remembered JW Restaurant. My wife and I were here maybe a year ago, but the couple with us had never heard of the place. What a treat for all of us. Friday early afternoon wasn't crowded and of course we got the view of the frozen Susquehanna River. Jennifer U. was our very patient waittress. Started with a cup of crab asparagus soup which was divine. Then my wife tried the crab cake sandwich and I had the John Wright wrap. Stuffed full and delicious. Filled with a bit of cole slaw for just a touch of sweetness. The broccoli salad was perfect also. Our friends had the quesadilla special and a JW wrap. All faces were smiling wide. Thought we were done, but Jennifer sneaked up with the dessert tray. Hard to say no when you're looking right at them. Finished with a Dark Chocolate Bomb, filled with chocolate cake and peanut butter. It could have been a meal by itself. It was a delightful place with fantastic food and views. Thanks JW.

Our party of 4 ate at this restaurant Sat, 11/22 for lunch. One of us ordered a regular Coke & was given a diet Coke...she reacts to artificial sweeteners in diet drinks, so she knew immediately she was given the wrong drink. The waiter corrected the mistake. She also ordered a cheeseburger, & received a bacon cheeseburger, however, the waiter took her plate after she pointed out the mistake, & in a short while, he brought her the correct burger. Another of us ordered a Wagyu burger, which is $18.00, $4.00 more than a regular hamburger. She didn't believe it was truly Wagyu beef, as it was gray in color & VERY gristly, totally unlike typical Wagyu beef, which has virtually no gristle. She would have been better off getting a regular burger with the same amount of gristle & had the same inferior quality meat at a $4.00 savings. Maybe you should buy your Wagyu beef from a different supplier, as the Wagyu you're getting currently is not a good choice.
Generally good food. Not quite five star but you won't be disappointed. Great atmosphere in an old silk factory along the Susquehanna river. Also an event venue.

We had our wedding rehearsal dinner on October 2. The food, the service, the promptness, were all top notch! Thank you to the John Wright crew for being so helpful and easy to work with!

Consistently outstanding food and service over the years. Tasty organic and locally-grown food options usually available, too. Moreover, half a dozen atmosphere options available within the restaurant.

I used to love the Sunday brunch at John Wright — it was one of my favorite places to go because the food was always fresh, delicious, and full of variety. Unfortunately, things have really gone downhill. The quality and flavor just aren’t there anymore, and for the price they charge, it’s extremely disappointing. What used to feel like a special treat now feels like a waste of money. I truly hope they bring back the standard and quality they once had.
