You never went to Royal Garden for the atmosphere. You probably never went for the service either, but a lot of people used to go for their food.
Now it's definitely taken a step backwards since the original owner sold the business. The food mostly does not taste the same. They run out of menu items sometimes which never used to happen, but on the plus side... it's more much easier to order takeout by phone, as they no longer take the phone off of the hook.

I honestly only ever order the wontons with the cherry dipping sauce but I come back for a reason. I hear good things about them all the time and those wontons are so good. I will eventually order something else on their menu I'm sure of it.

The owner was changed, which is why everyone is having a hard time with the adjustment. The food quality has degraded tenfold since the new owners came along. Everyone, and I truly mean this, absolutely everyone, dislikes the new owners with a great passion. All they do is cut costs and attempt to lower the quality of food whilst charging the same rates.
One of the owners, which is a Chinese Lady, is incredibly rude and dismissive. She won't acknowledge you whatsoever no matter how reasonable you are. As a result, I've completely moved on from this establishment. Do not go here unless you wish to be severely disappointed.

Great place for a feed! Friendly staff, food came out quickly and exactly as we ordered. Very fair prices as well - we got the dinner for two, and have lots leftover. We will be back!

Was given a gift certificate so decided to try it. Worst food ever. The ribs were the only thing that was decent. Everything was just barely warm. Rice had too much salt or soy sauce, egg rolls were like warm, diced almond chicken and lo mean were hardly edible. We took what was left home but put it in the waste bin. Hopefully the raccoons enjoy it more than we did. It was our first and last time. Definitely will not recommend the place. Canton Cafe all the way.

Tremendous food. Best eggrolls in Canada. I continue to visit this restaurant when I’m home on vacation at least once a week and take out in the weekend. It’s beyond delicious.

I'm a very big fan of this restaurant. The food is always Great ! How ever went there today (after calling all day ) and sign in the window saying they be back at 4 .... We waited for 30 minutes or so . We looked in the window and there was staff members in there . Instead of ignoring us you could of came to the door or atleast put on sign up saying you weren't open !! Very disappointed 😞

Tried to place a pick up order this evening. I was asked to hold and the phone was placed down on the counter. I listened for the next 15 minutes to the girls at the counter talked about customers, their coworkers being sulky, getting high, their periods, made fun of an elderly customer, and then make their grocery list. I finally hung up and when I did get through again and asked the lady her name, she made an ignorant comment and hung up the phone again. Might want to reassess your staff. Truly horrible girls.

I picked up my order and went home (30 minutes away). Opened up to start and about 3/4 of the chicken balls we ordered are pink/red inside. The manager/owner argued with me on the phone. I went in and asked for a refund and a new order of chicken balls as this cost me an hour drive to correct their mistake. The manager hid in the back and made the younger staff handle it running back and forth. We finally settled and I left to go home. Opened them up and of course there were still uncooked chicken balls. The manager on the phone argued that they were cooked and he won’t do anything about it. So save your money. I will NEVER darken their door or recommend them. Also if you are ordering for pickup, just no the second your food is ready it is then brought up front to sit on a table with no heat lamp to keep it at a safe temperature. When I went back I was there for roughly 10 minutes and there were bags there from before that were still not picked up.
