Island Stone Pub - Kensington Station

Another great meal last Saturday night,a must when in Kensington!

Each & every meal we have eaten here has been fantastic. Tonight I thought I would take a chance and order the steak. I say 'take a chance' as there have been times, in other restaurants, that I have paid top dollar for subpar steak (very disappointing considering the price of steak) WOW WOW WOW!!! Without a doubt, THE best steak I have ever eaten in PEI : cooked to perfection (as per my request for medium rare), juicy, very flavourful and impressively portioned. Absolutely fantastic 👏 (and very reasonably priced too )

my husband and I came to visit family for the first time from the UK, we had fish and chips and they were amazing, so so delicious 😋, thank you Island Stone pub, we highly recommend you, we'll be back!!!!!!

We were passing through Kensington and decided to stop at the Island Stone Pub and it was such a great choice! The food was absolutely fantastic – fresh, flavorful and perfectly prepared. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. The atmosphere was awesome, with a cozy yet lively vibe that made the experience even better. Even though it was during the week, the place was busy, which speaks to how popular it is. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area – we will definitely be back!

Wow!! This place is spectacular.

I was visiting PEI back in May - and loved every second of it. And this cute little pub added to that! It was so adorable and retro and I loved the food so much! They seriously have the best burgers I have EVER HAD. And I travel a lot!

Food was delicious and came quickly. Atmosphere was fun and inviting. I come here every time I’m in town and always leave happy. Eric is an amazing host and Jamie’s kitchen is putting out a fantastic menu.

We tried the Smokestack burger, and it was perfectly delicious and very satisfying. The staff were friendly, and conscientious. Additionally, the atmosphere had a cozy, relaxed vibe.

Went to the Island Stone Pub for the first time on Friday, Sept 5. Made a reservation for 6pm. When we arrived a bit before 6 pm it was very busy. Our waitress , Cathy, was lovely at first. We placed our drink orders and they can on time , but 45 mins later we still didn’t receive our appetizer of wings or mains of burgers and fries . We approached the waitress politely asking if our order was coming because if they were behind we are ok with leaving and just paying for the drinks. Here’s where it went wrong. Our waitress made some remarks stating “ that table there arrive 1 hour later then their reservations “, “ it’s not fast food” but changed her position when I explained we have been waiting 45 minutes and have a show to get to at 7:30. She stated “oh that is long time waiting “ but then proceeded to tell me we should have told her that at the first we were going to a show. Ok now I’m pissed. When I called to make the reservation on Wednesday I asked would a 6 pm reservation be enough time for making a 7:30 show at under the spire and was told yes. We didn’t order anything elaborate or different meals that needed timing to be ready at the same time. I’ve worked in restaurants, nothing we ordered takes more than 15 minutes to make. I said this to my husband and Cathy came back and said your burgers will be ready in 10 minutes. Called that. Our appetizer came at 6:55pm and our mains at 7:10. When she brought the mains she brought the bill too saving us some time. Food was good but hard to enjoy when you have 10 minutes to eat it before you need to leave. And there was no compensation for our wait, most places would not charge you the appetizer or drinks. I’m sure it’s a great place when not busy but they obviously can’t handle a rush . They need more staff and need to train their staff on how to handle issues such as running late.
