Super cute place — the old station at Kensington. Plenty of parking. Good food, nothing too fancy and nice beers on tap.

Bad experience in this very ordinary restaurant. The inside doesn’t look clean and the food is really just ok. But mostly, on a Wednesday, it took an hour to be served. By the time we received our plates we all finished our beer.

Everything is mediocre or below here except for the menu, which isn’t a good thing. Their menu is so specifically limited, most of the options attempt to be original or fancy, but end up being a mess and tasting gross. I’ve eaten here four times and ordered something different each time and not only felt that each item was sub par and over priced but I’ve now run out of anything else to order that I would even remotely have a chance at liking, and I’m not a picky eater. Their sauces are bland and they put so much on that it ruins everything else (3 people that were with me agreed), service is slow and there’s always flies, gnats and fruit flies flying around and spiders in the windows. Make great basic dishes before trying to be profound.

Edit: Since the owner decided to be defensive instead of responding professionally to feedback, maybe use Chat GPT or hire someone who is better at responding to concerns.

Noticed how you didn’t say anything about the bugs, and how there are several other reviews that state the same thing regarding the weird menu options (especially the burgers) and the bad sauces. For four of us to have a simple burger with some fries, it came to just over $150, which is insane. I’d expect that price and better quality of food at Gahan or something a little classier, not a pub in Kensington. The only thing decent were the fries, and I mean it’s PEI, the bar couldn’t be lower for that. For that price we expect to be able to enjoy our food without constantly needing to scrape excess sauce off and swatting away flies. Two of us couldn’t finish the burgers because they were just soaked with the sauce, which didn’t taste good.

I also agree with the other reviews regarding the weirdness of “reserved” tables. There were several empty tables during the hour and a half we were there yet you had someone out front turning people away if they didn’t have a reservation.

Each & every meal we have eaten here has been fantastic. Tonight I thought I would take a chance and order the steak. I say 'take a chance' as there have been times, in other restaurants, that I have paid top dollar for subpar steak (very disappointing considering the price of steak) WOW WOW WOW!!! Without a doubt, THE best steak I have ever eaten in PEI : cooked to perfection (as per my request for medium rare), juicy, very flavourful and impressively portioned. Absolutely fantastic 👏 (and very reasonably priced too )

Good spot for a meal. They do take reservations, which are encouraged.
We were seated inside (even though they said they’d seat us outside), it seemed to take a while to be acknowledged and food took a bit longer than expected as all the tables we could see were at the end of their meals and not ordering food. The food was good, just a bit slow.

Showed up at 2:50 pm on a Saturday and they said they were sold out through the night. Had some food across the way and watched the seat walk up’s 25 minutes later

Turned away anyone without reservations at 3pm

We had the fresh corn on the cob and fish tacos. It was soooooo delicious. Loved the cool, vintage atmosphere and the staff were very nice.

The only reason I did not give this a 5 is that it was a bit pricy for what we got. But the food was great.
