A cozy restaurant at a seaside location- with fresh seafood, naturally!
What strikes the customer at first sight is the casual, homey settings. And warm blankets hang on a ladder for these cooler days (we were there at the end of May, and yes, these were welcome).
We had a pot of fresh rosemary & lemon mussels (must!) with a side of PEI potatoes wedges, with a daily dessert (bread pudding at the time) we shared with coffee and tea. Potato wedges had a paprika/mild spice blend which made these a great pairing with the mussels.
Coffee was rich and plentiful, and the tea welcome on that chilly day.
As a bonus, there is a walking path nearby, for a pleasant after lunch stroll.
We will return!

Love this place. The go to every time we are in PEI. Not quite the same experience as the first time I went over 10 years ago and the prices got a little expensive- but still a great all around restaurant. Can’t wait until I am in the Island again.

This was definitely my family’s favourite meal during our visit to PEI. We got the PEI mussels in the rosemary flavour and oysters caught that morning from Rustico Bay - the mussels came in a large portion and the flavours were spot on. We also got the lobster roll with potato salad as our main. Lobster was plentiful and fresh. Potato salad was delicious and did not feel overly creamy like some others.
The atmosphere having it sit on Rustico bay was so nice. The staff were so friendly and answered all our questions. I’d definitely recommend anyone visiting PEI to come try the food, even if it means going out of your way!!

Beautiful location - we came for the mussels but there were only two options, and lime with blueberry ale is less appetizing than it sounds. The other option of white wine with lemon and rosemary came as what appeared to be solely the water they were cooked in, with a hunk of lemon and a sprig of rosemary. The mussels themselves very fresh, but the flavour of the lemon water was less than appetizing. Staff were lovely.

I have been to the Blue Mussel several times over the past years, but this recent visit in September was fantastic. We went as soon as they opened for lunch to beat the crowds. The service was amazing, and the lobster roll was the best I have had in the Maritimes. They also made one of the best cocktails I have ever tried, their salt spray maple espresso martini. You can view the sea from their window seats, and there is a small beach across the street.

North Rustico is small. This restaurant is a gem. Nice staff, food quality and presentation was high. It is eclectic, interesting. There is an online wait list? Found it a bit awkward so we showed up and all was good. A lively spot and the Halibut is great. We liked at a few other spots but this seemed by far the best.

Amazing! From the service to the food everything about our experience was exceptional :) The Lobster dip was to die for. Tried the haddock and mussel bucket as well which were really good. Our server Heidi was very friendly which made the experience even better. Definitely recommend!
