Randomly drove past this and saw the sign for fish and chips so I turned around and went back - I love a place that does ONE thing and does it SUPER WELL. These were OUTSTANDING fish and chips and homemade French fries. I also loved that they were open when it seemed like everyone else had shut down for the season. Note that it was open even when google said it would be closed. If you're checking out Anne of Green Gables sites definitely eat here! (It is just a stand with no seating available FYI but grab some for the road)

love the food. Fries are old school home cuts . Fast and friendly great service
On my way out of PEI, I stopped by Route 6 Fish'n Chips for a quick snack, and it turned out to be a great decision. There’s plenty of free parking, so it was super convenient to pull over. The setup is cozy, with a nice older gentleman running the place from a small kitchen. He was very friendly and prepared our food incredibly quickly, which was a nice surprise.
We ordered the fish and chips and an order of deep-fried clams. The fries were amazing—freshly cut from real potatoes, and you could really taste the difference. The fish was incredibly soft, almost melting in your mouth, and the thin batter was perfect. Even though it was my first time trying deep-fried clams, I really enjoyed them!
Overall, the experience was great. The food was delicious, the service was fast, and the atmosphere was laid-back. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area and craving some fresh fish and chips!

The fish, scallops, and clams are so fresh and cooked perfectly!
My family and I went to.eat here based on all of the 5-star reviews. We got scallops, fish, clams and chicken strips... and sadly, the best of it was the chicken. Not good for a fish & chips stand.
A lot of the reviews say that this is the 2nd best fish & chips spot on the island, after "Richard's..." which is where we were planning on going tomorrow. Based on how tonight's meal tasted, I amnow not looking forward to tomorrow's supper.

Disappointed. I asked for 4 packets of ketchup and he gave me one. Overpriced and not friendly. Not a good look. AND I AM LOCAL. NOT A TOURIST BEING PICKY.
Very nice. Picnic area. Food was great.

PHENOMENAL!! Food was incredible, and the gentleman who made it had some incredible hospitality. We brought a group of 7 at the end of the day, and he ensured we all got some good fried seafood and fries :)

Really amazing fish and chip spot. I really appreciated the fresh fish which was light on the batter (making it less greasy) which was great. The French fries were a favourite, just fresh cut potato - simple is fantastic. It was just missing out on some custom sauces like you get at Richard’s (they only had Kraft tartar sauce) but I see how this just isn’t their thing. Definitely worth going to if you’re passing by.
After eating at 6 different restaurants for fish and chips on our PEI vacation, I'm happy to conclude that Route 6 was the best by far. It wins out on best fish (light breading so it's not too heavy), best fries (thick cut, moist and flavorful), and lowest price. I had the pleasure of speaking to the owner, Ronnie, and he was sweet, humble and kind. Definitely don't miss this gem!

Lovely spot with picnic tables to enjoy a great lunch or dinner! We came back a second time because it was so great
Lightest battered fish we had here in PEI, which made it feel less greasy and heavy, perfectly done, fresh fries were a highlight!

Searched the Island for fries and clams. They did not disappoint. Prices were great and the conversation even better. We will definitely be back.
paid 18$ for 4 chicken fingers and a dozen fries. I asked him to split it into 2 boxes because my kids were splitting it. he told me to do it myself. then while I was splitting it he told me I looked annoyed I then said I was a little as there were about a dozen fries he told me it looked like less because I was splitting it. I told him a dozen fries was still a dozen fries regardless of how many boxes they were in. when I asked for sweet sour sauce he then looked annoyed with me and tossed it on the counter. very dirty counters I may add and we were the only customer. . . clams out in the counter not refrigerated touching money then food not washing hands. and to top it off fries weren't even cooked and food was greasy you could tell the fryer grease was old. save your money and eat somewhere else.
