We were on a late season motorcycle trip around the island and ducked in to Shirley's for lunch. I had an amazing hamburger plate. Maybe be because i was hungry, but it the the best flat top burger i had in a very long time. Fries and gravy was spot on as well.

The food last year was amazing i had the chance to go back this year so i did however the lady at the counter was only interested in serving people who had phoned in ahead and any chance she had to serve someone in line she would wave someone she recognized around me so after almost 20 minutes of this i got fed up and my gf and i left. Absolute shame before this experience i would have said shirleys had the best fries anywhere on the island

Nope.
Just nope.
Staff were kind and doing their best.
Food was awful. Poutine gravy was thick and tasteless, wrap was plain and not fresh, atmosphere was junky.

While the French fries themselves were reasonable (though not great), the poutine gravy was terrible. Deep-fried breaded scallops were from frozen! In P.E.I.! Sheesh! On top of that everything was served on paper plates and the A/C was blasting so cold that the food was stone cold after just a few minutes. Suggest you sit outside, as inside is dingy, cramped, and harsh exposed fluorescent lights. Definitely would not recommend.

Excellent food and service. It's small and a little cramped but everything was otherwise great. I think the only place to get a meal with kids in Tignish.

I didn't expect so many peas.

Pleasantly surprised! The grilled chicken wrap was excellent - very fresh and not overwhelmed with sauces.

Quirky spot that’s a cross between a convenience store and a cafe. The best part is the homemade ice cream sandwiches made with delicious buttery chocolate chip cookies. The mediocre part is the poutine made with too little shredded mozzarella (not cheese curds) and the overcooked burger. Wish we hadn’t missed breakfast (ends at 11 am) because that looked better! But all-in-all, this was a nice place to stop for a spell on our bike trip and take shelter from the North Cape rainstorm.
