I had the sandwich and it was super tasty. They make your sandwich based on the ingredients you choose, so it is freshly made for you.

Great place for a fast meal that is wholesome food. Really good soup and a foot long sandwich roll. You choose your own combination of filling and they generously scoop it on.

Vegetarian options: You choose, so vegetarian is your choice

During my overnight visit to Lisbon, I chose this quaint cafe for my morning outing. Located in a centralized side of town, I had narrowed my selection to this place primarily for its variety of pastries and treats to no disappointment. The venue had a charm of its own that transported you back into history. What caught my eye as I entered was the set of stairs leading down to where you got to place your order. Afterwards, I sat upstairs facing the front window, so I could get to watch the people passing by as they went to work, and/or the children heading to school. The only reason why I didn't give it five stars was due to the disappointment, as I was leaving. I was reprimanded by one of the attendants for taking a picture. Not sure why I couldn't, not only was the area filled with tourists, I wanted to remember its charm, but unfortunately it lacked luster at the end.

Worst customer service ever! They’re discriminating non Portuguese speakers, speaking bad of the customers literally in front of them because they do not have the mental capacity to realize that ppl do understand them. Wouldn’t leave my money there anymore. We bought over 40€ of food and asked to get sandwiches heated up which they did not pack up in our bag. When we came back that SAME NIGHT the super unfriendly second shift had arrived and sent us away telling us to come back tommorow cause the same ppl apparently should be working there again. Which WE DID, to then just be told; and this was AFTER the employee spoke to the MANAGER of this place. Apparently our sandwiches were laying out there the whole day before and because we hadn’t come by the same day they can’t do anything for us. THEYRE SCAMMERS AND LIARS. We had paid and we had come by and were sent away. When we communicated this to the ridiculous Manager of this place, he discussed with me acting as if he was doing us a favor, saying things like „I can do this this one time but just this time“ and giving childish petty looks while his employee handed us the sandwiches in a disrespectful way. He even asked us for the receipt, after stating that his employee had ran after us with the sandwiches and they were laying around the day before, how bad do you want to lie??? I am astonished as of how so many incompetent people can work in one place, never going back there again.

The A Padaria Portuguesa restaurants are a franchise and they are spread over Lisbon. The one we went to was the one in Luis de Camoes. We ordered some pastries and a coffee and fresh orange juice. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and I really enjoyed it Their pastries were delicious as with all the chain. However, the coffee left a lot to be desired.

very good cafe with a variety of sweet and savory options. I tried the toasted ham and cheese toast. Very rich and tasty. Also the meat croquets and a lemonade. Good price and good quality.

Not quite so ubiquitous as Starbucks, but with locations in nearly every district of Lisbon, A Padaria Portuguesa has grown substantially since 2010, and although a “chain” in all ways each store maintains unique design elements to pair with dozens of baked goods and café selections. Perhaps best compared to Panera stateside or Paul in Europe, Sandwiches and Soups offered alongside Pastry, it was shortly after 07h00 that the location on Praça Luís de Camões was found busy, early arrival assuring warm Pastel de Bacalhau that are generous in size and well prepared without any sense of oiliness. Modern but rooted in tradition, with service designed to turn tables, one would be right to assume A Padaria Portuguesa does big volume in Portugal’s signature Egg Custard Tart, their storage under plastic maintaining temperature but also moisture that makes for a damp Crust but admirable interior. Also offering croquettes de carne and Mil Folhas, the latter crackling to the fork beneath Icing, it would be negligent to exit A Padaria Portuguesa without at least one Pão de Deus, or God’s Bread, featuring the softness of Brioche with plenty of Coconut and even more Butter.

Everything looks delicious but they don't have any gluten free options besides ice cream. It's definitely not safe for celiacs.
