“Agua d'Alto beach is great. The restaurant is beautiful, the atmosphere is good, on the seaside it's great. The service is OK, but they are quickly overwhelmed by events as soon as the customer base builds up. Arrive early, say before 6:30 p.m. to get better service.

Parking: You can park on the street, if it is full, there is a parking lot at the top of the hill which can hold a lot of cars. Don't worry if there are a lot of people, they are not necessarily at the restaurant, they are possibly at the beach.”

We finally got to eat in. The pizza was even better at the restaurant. Also had some excellent linguine w pesto. The owners make and serve the food and are very friendly. There are 4 small tables so make sure you call ahead.

All pizza shops around here were closed one day and we visited out of desperation. And boy are we glad we did. This is excellent pizza!!! ? We had take out and even after the drive home it was great. Can’t wait to go eat there soon.”

“We stopped here for a quick drink and snack but it quickly turned into an afternoon of conversation and good food. We had the best lapas on the island here! The owner knows what she’s doing and clearly cares about the food she serves. We also had a bifana with fries. Delicious. At the end of our meal the owner asked if we would like some corn that was fresh from a local farm. We couldn’t refuse and so glad we said yes. The corn was unbelievably sweet and delicious! Please don’t come here expecting a five star restaurant. This is a local bar run by wonderful people serving simple, fresh, delicious food. My only disappointment is that we didn’t make time to return for the lapas. Next time!”

“The typical place you only go if you know it. Well, as a tourist I ended up here by chance and I can only recommend it to everyone. From the outside it is a bar, inside a shopping center so certainly not inviting. Instead it is full of locals who eat here and the reason is that it is delicious and cheap. With 10 euros per person you can eat a lot and be healthy. Burgers 4 euros, omelettes 5 (3 eggs) or 6 euros (with 4 eggs) approximately, desserts all under 2 euros. Coffee 80 cents. Chicken soup for 3.50 euros which alone can be a meal.The staff speaks English and is smiling, despite the peak crowd (1pm).Great advice! It's worth diverting your trip and having lunch here.”

“We've eaten here a few times. In response to our inquiry, we were told this is a family run establishment. Once or twice we have had younger teenagers in the role of waitstaff. The youngsters have been very polite and professional, pleasant, and efficient in their tasks. As is often the case here in the Azores, staff has focused on the customer at hand, giving them full attention and thus sometimes the wait to be acknowledged can be a bit longer than you might experience in the USA; it's not a flaw, just a difference, and you will receive the same level of courtesy when it's your turn.I believe the food is cooked to order, so when it's busy, we have had to wait a bit longer, but then the food entrees are hot, including a toasted sandwich for which the bread was still warm....so the wait jas been worth the meal.It's not a fancy food place, but the meals are fresh, hot, tasty, and served by folks who are welcoming and courteous so a great place for a casual meal.
