Not a place to go with a family. They told us could make a “carbonara” with sausage for the kids. What arrived was plain pasta with sausage and some ketchup. Price? €10 per dish. Mains were good but really it’s only a restaurant for adults and older kids. Service was ok but quite slow for being nearly empty.

Great dinner with a view. The patio overlooks an old church and the mountainous ocean side. The shrimp, gazpacho, and trigger fish were delicious! Would recommend.

This was hands down the best meal we had in Sao Miguel. The husband chef and wife front of the house duo made us feel at home. The food was fantastic. Special shoutout for the garlic shrimp, the salad, and the mashed cauliflower. One vegetarian and three meat eaters were incredibly pleased!

Booked a table by chance and glad I did. Food is excellent and owner a lovely lady. This is a hidden gem in a lovely location. Only negative was no children's menu but owner suggested half risotto which went down well.

A restaurant does not get better when all the ingredients are aligned ............the minute you enter the restaurant you are in awe of the ambience and the history. It progresses to the spectacular food prepared by Michael and his assistant...every dish was uniquely flavoured and expertly presented. However, the food is not to be outdone by the service - Iracema is a consummate professional- gracious and a deliverer of those fine service details. I have never had someone so attentive to ensuring that the flavours from the silverware's were not left on the table to ensure they would not interfere with the next course! Behind the scene was Michael's kitchen assistance; everyone needs a helper like her. She is warm, friendly and highly efficient. It was evident that Michael and his wife have created a place where people love to work and this two way loyalty to quality and service are another ingredient for the success of the restaurant. But it didn't stop there! Have you ever been to a restaurant where the chef then comes out to finish dinner with some saxophone music accompanied by his good friend. The love of music and life jumped off the stage. This experience is one NOT to miss! Without a doubt, the best meal of our entire three weeks on the mainland and Azores......well done team.

Certainly the best restaurant of Sao Miguel ! Beautiful place, very friendly people, excellent food, jazz music (quiet). Price/quality is fantastic.
Lovely meal.
THE Place to eat. Romantic atmosphere, good food and jazz band after dinner on Friday. To do and redo.
Agua de Pau already had the two best restaurants on the island. Another very good one has been added with the Adega Caloura. Rather pleasantly quieter than the Caloura Bar (fish) and A Casa do Abel (meat), you can get everything here. So I think everyone will find a delicious dish for themselves on the small menu. Or also tasty starters and desserts. The portions are such that you can enjoy 2 or 3 courses with very good ingredients and delicately seasoned. In terms of price, it's not much higher than the other two restaurants in town, which are now (rightly) above the island average. Conclusion: for a relaxed meal that is not entirely typical of the island in a very pleasant atmosphere, Adega is a top address

My friends and I were staying in the area and decided to check this restaurant out due to it being within walking distance of our accommodations. We were a bit wary of some of the reviews on here and the lack of them in general, but I am so glad we decided to go. Yes the service was a bit slow, but I think a bit part of that is also the cultural difference between what I, an American, am used to and what is normal in Portugal. The food, however, exceedingly made up for anything else. It was one of the most delicious meals I've eaten in my entire life, and that's not an exaggeration. If you're looking for a delicious meal in a cozy setting and are not in any rush, then I highly recommend it.
