“I don't know if there is a better restaurant on the island, for me I tried the best one, being Galician and having Portugal on the other side of the border, I can't be anything more than a lover of the brother country, of its cod, of its customs. , and of the hundreds of times I ate it in continental Portugal, Madeira and this one in Açores, without a doubt the best. Point and aside to rate a qualified, professional service, and 10 out of 10, the atmosphere is also unbeatable, background music, a bright place, integrated with a lot of vegetation, fresh and very modern, truly unsurpassed.

“We were there twice. The first was to have cocktails and the service and quality were very good, although they have little variety of cocktails. The second time we went to eat and we had to wait a long time for a table to be given, but then everything went quite well, except that it was very hot and the umbrellas are not enough; in fact, the waiters were all sweating profusely. I enjoyed it, but the temperature made it not a perfect experience.

“09/20/2023 -> I went to have lunch at this restaurant with some friends. We went without a reservation and therefore had some luck when we arrived as the restaurant was full and there was only one table free next to a television. The restaurant is a family restaurant concept in which there are limited dishes available and they are sold out as customers arrive. Unfortunately they only had rump at that time, so this was the dish chosen. The food was good (good quality meat), with a very generous portion being served (typical presentation of a tavern). It's a good regional "tasca" type restaurant. Maybe I'll have to go back to try other dishes to make a more accurate assessment ?“

“Chose this restaurant for our first night in the area (always a good test!) and we were not disappointed. Lovely friendly welcome, great setting out on the terrace, perched on a Cliffside and some lovely fresh pink to get the evening off to a start. “We have had the opportunity to eat here twice. The first time we ordered lobster and seafood stew. Very good quality and excellent flavor. “Agua d'Alto beach is great. The restaurant is beautiful, the atmosphere is good, on the seaside it's great. The service is OK, but they are quickly overwhelmed by events as soon as the customer base builds up. Arrive early, say before 6:30 p.m. to get better service.
Parking: You can park on the street, if it is full, there is a parking lot at the top of the hill which can hold a lot of cars. Don't worry if there are a lot of people, they are not necessarily at the restaurant, they are possibly at the beach.“

“We loved this restaurant so much we came back for dinner the next night! The views of the islet and the ocean are amazing if you sit outside. Food is delicious. The limpets are especially good. Amazing service. We had the same server both nights and she even remembered our little ones’ allergies.
They had a high chair for our baby and big umbrellas for shade.

“It's a hole in the wall, but adorable. Pizza was good, but if you're an American, don't order sausage because it's Vienna sausage. The regional stake was great. It was sauteed with garlic and red pepper. The fries are just like any other fries in this country, thin, crispy, and generally good. The salad was good but not amazing. Everything was very well priced, so you're not breaking the bank. Service was very nice, and attentive, and seemingly multilingual. She spoke different languages different customers. “Manuel Flor restaurant is a must do when in Ribeira Grande. The roasted chicken is a must have, with the hot sauce (not a killler hot but just right). First of all. Magma is the restaurant of the Senhora Da Rosa hotel. We had a hard time finding the entrance to the restaurant because we couldn't see the sign.
We decided on the 4-course tasting menu (€45) and the 5-course tasting menu (€55) and a wine tasting with each dish (€25).
We started with a black pudding croquette as a starter, followed by a pineapple ravioli with shrimp, a regional fish tartar, risotto with another regional fish (veja fish), a piece of beef on mashed sweet potato (I think it was sweet potato) and carrot and we finish with a scoop of ice cream with pineapple, on a Gorreana Tea cookie.

“He was invited to lunch to celebrate the first communion of a first degree relative. This restaurant serves a buffet for lunch and another for dinner, depending on the day of the week. On Saturday it was a buffet day and there was a huge variety of food, from soup, cheese, salads, dishes of the day, desserts and coffee, all accompanied with red wine, white wine, orange juice and mineral water. Fava bean soup was served, then I helped myself to different cheeses and jam as a starter. For the main dishes I opted for a grilled tuna steak, some hake fillets and some sirloin steaks. At the end I tasted some desserts, along with a delta brand coffee. Everything was delicious and the service was very helpful. I recommend the restaurant!“

We walked from our hotel to this restaurant for dinner and were able to sit outside and watch the sunset over the ocean while we ate. “The best ribeye steak I tried in the whole island and one of ny favourites ever! The service speaks english perfectly and were so professional. We meat was well cooked in the grill and very tasty! Its true the chicken salad was just a 5/10. I really recommend to go there if you like meat!“
