I recommend this place all the time on FB travel pages. We were a group of 5 seniors who had a great time here. It was definitely one of our favorite spots during our entire Portugal trip. Get the flaming sausages. Enough variety to have good choices for various palates.

We wouldn’t have heard of here, except a friend had eaten in it and highly recommended. It is a lovely, unassuming restaurant that serves excellent food at very affordable prices. We had previously eaten at a similar, much more expensive restaurant but the food in Artis was of much better quality! The service was excellent and there is a lovely cosy and romantic ambience to the restaurant. I will be recommending here to anyone I know visiting Lisbon and if I ever return it will be the first place I go for dinner!

One of the house specialties is the bacalao a bras which was one of the vey best I’ve ever had. Be sure to make a reservation and enjoy an outstanding meal.

Tucked away on a relatively low key side street sits Artis, easy to miss from the outside but definitely not once you've been in. We tend to make a rule not to have dinner in the same location on short trips, but we made an exception for this place, the food, drink, service and surroundings are all excellent. As someone else alluded to, do not be put off by low numbers if you go early, it fills up very nicely in the evening. The place exudes authenticity in both the decor and its food. We went with 4-5 tapas dishes which was fine for the two of us. We also had a main of cod fish cakes done in Portuguese style to add (very nice). The pork PicaPau was really good but the beef version was even better (beef in a sauce with really deep and mild spicy flavor). My personal favorite was Ovos Rotto, in essence eggs, fried potatoes and Serrano ham, it was stunning. The wine was really good also with Ricardo letting us know which to match, and their desert wine was something else. Top all this off with first rate service that also let you breathe and have space while dining, and you've got a very special combination. I have already told friends going to Lisbon about this gem.
