Great small pub away from the chaos of town! Owner and barman are dry, funny and typically British, which we love. Went in a few times during our week away and the locals make it feel like home. Be warned he doesn't serve bread and butter if you are Americans ?????.

Been here before. Don’t think we will return unfortunately Both had steak which was good. But there is just no atmosphere in the place and the decor/seating is hardly Portuguese. You could be anywhere. Waitress didn’t come across as naturally friendly…smiled but that stopped as soon as she turned around. Shame as last time was a lot better but based on this visit we won’t return. Better more atmospheric restaurants.
I’ve been on a hunt for a good steak for a while now, after having a Portuguese steak at the ‘O Manjar’ I can easily confirm that it was the best thing I’ve ever tasted. You could’ve cut into it like in butter. It was cooked and seasoned to perfection, veggies and potatoes with cheese were beautiful. House wine was light and fruity. I will definitely come back next year!
We visited O Manjar 6 times during our 2 week stay, the meals we had were; grilled sea bass Lamb chops x4 Veal liver x2 Creamy chicken x2 Steak with mushroom sauce Steak with peppercorn sauce Soup and garlic bread And a delicious array of deserts. Every meal was absolutely scrummy, Palmira is a wonderful cook who puts love into her meals. She also makes the most delicious deserts. Monica has made O Manjar hers, the once shy young lady, has become a wonderful host who goes above and beyond to accommodate your little quirks. She works incredibly hard, always has a smile, and is a lovely, warm person who makes you feel welcome when you walk through the door. We 100% recommend O Manjar. And look forward to seeing Monica, Palmira, and Rui in a few months

Didn't enjoy going as the bar owner clearly didn't like 3 60 year old men from Liverpool. We only wanted a quiet drink. Suggest if your not from Liverpool you will like a bar decorated with beatles memorabilia. Very
