I've been going to Restaurante Flor do Mar for years, with my experiences there being rated between 3 and 4 ⭐️'s, depending on the time of year. It was the first time, since the arrival of the new management, that I returned there on 07/01/2024. It was, unfortunately, a regrettable experience. With a reserved table and only a few months occupied, we waited around 40 minutes for a "cheese and sausage board" and a sangria, and we had to go looking for these starters. Afterwards, the pasta dishes were impossible to consume (salty, "watery", burnt, in short...) and they even forgot about one of them (they hurriedly made carbonara pasta, which had nothing of carbonara in it), the kebab of meat was salty and without any accompaniment (we had to buy a side dish separately). The waiters were barely visible.... The restaurant, while we were there, was not completely full. We even saw people getting up and leaving because no one was going to take their order. The table was reserved next to a screen, on purpose, to watch the Portugal game and they were informed of this intention, it was a request from the birthday girl. Unfortunately, during the game, they found that they were unable to activate the sound...?? The experience was only worth it for the octopus à lagareiro, which although a little salty, I liked.
Parking: In the height of summer it is very difficult to find parking.
Wheelchair accessibility: Although the tours are sidewalks, accompanied, a person with reduced mobility can use the space.

I do not like writing negative reviews, but I don't want other people to waste their money. We arrived at the restaurant and the first impressions were good, nicely set tables, everything nice and clean. We got shown to a table and we're presented with the menu. Before we had even chosen something a waiter came around with various appetisers and asked if we wanted any. So here I made the first mistake but only found out later, I said yes and chose olives some carrots and something that was supposed to be octopus salad. We then chose our main meals from the menu. The waiter then asked what we want to drink ,I replied that if we knew what they have then we could choose something, so away he goes and only now brings us the drinks menu. So we sorted the dinks out and started on the appetisers. Everything was hard and pasted in garlic, the olives maybe come from Iceland. The waiter comes back and says they don't have the sardines which I ordered could I please choose something else and then hovers on my shoulder waiting. I kindly asked him to come back in 5 minutes so that I could choose in peace. He came back and I ordered pork loin Portuguese style or something like that (can't remember this was 4 weeks ago) 2 minutes later he was back again "which version did I want?" Told him and off he goes. 2 minutes later he is back again telling us that the mussels my wife ordered are not available . By this time we had had enough, we paid for what we had eaten (most of it went back)and drank and went to the restaurant down the road and got everything we wanted. @The manager, this is not how you run a restaurant, everything in the menu should be available or declared to the customer that it is not available. The drinks menu should be handed out with the food menu. Although the staff were at all times friendly I belive them to be badly trained or inexperienced.

Had an evening meal here. It's not a cheap place but very nice food. It was a bit like Faulty Towers,half the sides we not available so they piled chips and some veg which we didn't really want. It was quite and not much atmosphere.

Bien que le jeune serveur ne parlait pas un mot de français il a été à nos petits soins. Le steak a la brésilienne était bon servi cuit mais tendre quant au poulpe grillé parfumé au romarin et thym avec de la coriandre un véritable délice avec des légumes servis en conséquence sous le poulpe. Les desserts étaient pour mon mari une tarte à l orange qu il a appréciée quant à moi une tarte aux amandes probablement faite depuis 2 jours un peu sèche
