Industrial crab sticks in cataplana... How can it be possible... This is a crime to do this for cataplana... All was ok but O'velero next door is cheaper and all hand made... Such a friendly welcoming place. Very small and intimate. The food was 10 out of 10, no issues and extremely tasty. We visited twice during our stay and both times the food was great. Highly recommend the Portuguese pork steak. Both the waiters were friendly and made sure our visits went well. Food is extremely reasonably priced too.

Man i don’t know what people are on here but we had hair in our food. The food was not seasoned snd the portions are small. If i order calamari for a main dish, i expect it to be a bit more than 5 calamaries and an unseasoned salad. My partner ordered grilled salmon and there was a hair grilled in there. The potato was not salted and it was a very mid dish all along

Awful experience yesterday. I ordered fillet steak medium which was well done, tiny and very chewy, I told the waiter and he told me it wasn't well done! My boyfriend had lamb chops and he didn't enjoy them as they were way over done also! Convneiently their card machine wasn't working so they wanted cash. Avoid this place!

We visited for lunch during the first day of our week’s stay in Albufeira and were so impressed that we returned a further 3 times for dinner. What a fantastic restaurant, lovely food (every time), very friendly staff and reasonably priced. Also, such a lovely atmosphere (we sat at one of the outside tables each time for dinner). Recommended to book for dinner, this is a popular restaurant and there was normally several people waiting outside for a table to become free. I will miss this place and hope to return to Albufeira again soon to visit again.

We ate here on Monday and loved it so much we booked to go again a couple of days later. The restaurant is situated in the Old Town in a beautiful traditional street. It’s not very big but is definitely worth waiting for a table. The food is delicious and the service outstanding - all the waiters are so friendly and genuine. Would recommend the bread and sardine pâté to start - also the Portuguese steak is amazing , as are the monkfish kebabs and the peri peri tiger prawns. If you are after delicious food, friendly waiters in a traditional style restaurant then this is the place to go

After a bit of a trail round Albufeira ( no great shakes at all) we paused here to take stock of what to do for lunch..here was busy and I heard many Portuguese voices so reckoned it could be a good bet. Turns out it was better than that. Terrific grilled sardines with a mixed salad, excellent small battered hake fillets with chips...everything very well presented and well cooked. TT also had an excellent bowl of homemade tomato soup to start..Euro 2.70 I think. Personable staff with a little bit of waiting as the kitchen would be at full tilt. Would TT go again? Yes to this restaurant but not to Albufeira as it is touristy on steroids ( but we had to take a look ).

Looks like a very expensive and classy restaurant so was very pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices. The food was very tasty and filling, definitely good for your money. The service was very good and overall I am really impressed

My partner, our child, and I ate at O Catraio last night and loved it. Attracted by the good food and excellent prices we were not disappointed. Food and service was impeccable. Delightful atmosphere, with nice people watching as others walked by on the narrow lane right by us. This place clearly has a great reputation (and deservedly so) as there was a constant long line of people waiting for their chance to grab a table. Not to be missed if you’re in town and want great food that’s also at a great price!
Beautiful unpretentious Portuguese food. We had pepper steaks, monkfish kebab and the grilled codfish. It was all so delicious. My mum said the codfish was the best fish she has ever had in any restaurant. We also wanted to try the grilled sardines but they said they are only served at lunchtime unfortunately as they sell out quickly. To finish we had the cheesecake which was simple and tasty.

Not that much of a great place. The hype they get from the reviews and the long queue will fool you. The personnel was lovely, but I was expecting more. To start with, the prices are not the ones you see online, they have revised them so it's kind of the same pricy vibe for Albufeira (pricy compared to Portugal prices). The octopus portion was ridiculously small, the Bacalao a Bras was good, and the green wine was just okay. So ya, not worth the long queue nor the price. Just regular!

When visiting Portugal one has to try cataplana. Being a lover of seafood this was a no brainer for me and this restaurant served up a beautifully tasty dish. It's only available as a two person meal so, unless you are really hungry you will need a seafood loving partner to eat with. The cataplana comes in a covered hot dish and is available with rice or potatoes. We chose rice to soak up all those delicious juices. Service was a little slow (otherwise they would have got an excellent) but, to be fair, the restaurant was very busy. The price was very reasonable compared to other restaurants in the area.

Cod a lagreiro was delicious, salty with garlic almost burnt. Good fresh tuna. Pasta for the kids. Friendly service in the heart of the old district with good prices for a popular tourist location.
