We went as a family of 4 and had a fantastic time. The guys and girls that ran the entertainment during the day and evening really made it fun for us all. Maurizio was brilliant at getting everyone involved and really made us laugh! Pedro, David and all the girls were great with the kids and really kept us entertained. The food was excellent, with good selections. The room we had was right on the beach, cleaned every day by the lovely staff. The hotel was a little tired in places but it was definitely made up for with the atmosphere - We had a Fab week! Thanks guys.. Kevin from England

5 lads of us stayed for 4 nights and it was exactly what we wanted. Staff - Extremely friendly All inclusive - drinks and food is everything you could want from the hotel. Alcoholic drinks were nice and bar staff would actually ask how you wanted them (strong or not). Food - Great variety. People on the other reviews have moaned saying it is not good. It was exactly what you would want on holiday. Hotel rooms - exactly how the pictures say. Location - perfect in between old and new town. Beach on the door step of the hotel Pool - Big and pool bar is great First time going to Albufeira but I will be going back and I would stay at that hotel every time. Before we went I saw people complaining about the hotel, but you are not paying for 5* luxury this hotel is great for families or friends.

I feel the reviews for this hotel are very harsh, so wanted to write a review.. Enjoyed a 2 week family stay there and would definitely return. The hotel is positioned right on the beach and has stunning views. Our room was bright and more than adequate. Large and a problem with the air con was sorted promptly. We ate at the restaurant and the onsite Italian and found both to be very good with plenty of choice, although the italian isnt as good as it could be. I think the main issue is that English guests are a minority at this hotel, they have a lot of European and Portuguese guests. So I guess its hard to offer food to please all. But for me not cooking myself for 2 weeks was a treat itself. Yes this hotel has a quirky layout and some cobbled areas and steps- this is a Portuguese hotel near the old town, not a newly built complex in Milton Keynes. It's got character. The staff are so friendly - mauricio is full of energy, Pedro is fabulous and the bar guy Elvis is brilliant! All staff are great. The pool could be better as it has 3 depths with steep slopes between each and the deep section is deep. But we never once had a problem finding a sunbed or 4! The poolside snack bar offer great snacks and drinks. And the hotel had a very friendly, family atmosphere. We would happily go back here.

We only stayed one night after a late night Airport arrival and booked it last minute. The room (403b) was out the back & was dated and dingy.... me and the kids ended up sharing the double and husband went on the sofa bed but it had no sheets.... he tried to find someone to help get him some but no one was around.... next morning we checked out and moved on somewhere else. We realised that our son had left his favourite soft toys he's had since he was born in the room at Monica Isabel. I called straight away - the hotel just said they had nothing but we know 100% they were there - I've since emailed several times, sent photos of the toys and asked someone to acknowledge they are properly checking and to please reply to my emails. Even offered to come and check ourselves. Nothing. Awful customer service. It takes 2 minutes for someone to reply and put mine / my sons mind at rest that his toys are being looked for, to just be ignored I find rude and uncaring.

Well here goes , My wife booked a family holiday for 14 of us ages from 5months, 1year old, 3year old , 4year old , 11 year old, and 14 years old plus Mum's, Dad's, Granny and Gramps. We stayed for 10 nights all inclusive. All our rooms had sea views in main building ours was 206, others were 501, 503, and 601. All spacious with kitchen area, and tables and chairs for all.The food was a good standard plenty of choice breakfast cooked or continental, fruits , bottomless hot drinks the restaurant has stunning views of the beach and pool area. The lunch menu plenty of choice in restaurant or if you only wanted lite bites the pool bar provides a good choice aswell.Evening meals again plenty of choices, from salads, to good main dishes , Porksteak, fish dishes, Tuna, swordfish, Marlin , first time I tried this awesome, steaks etc , cheeseboard ice cream, loads of desert and yes potato new, sauté , boiled, CHIPS!!. I could go on but to please everyone that's just a sample of what's on the menu.As I said there were 14 on this hols and we all had a fantastic time. Location is spot on the swimming pool looks directly over the beach from sunbed to shoreline about 3mins , tip barter parasol price or save your self 15 euro a day for hire 2beds and parasol by buying one from shop . The hotel was kept clean at all times considering its peak season they had a hard job but did a great one.The bar staff were very good , yes you might have to queue up for a drink but with such a lot of guests that was expected. The evening entertainment was for me personally a bit hit and miss but my grandaugters 3, and 4 enjoyed themselves but it was late 9pm ishfor them. The pool table could do with a couple more for company, you lost money too long to wait. A big shout out goes to all staff , Reception thanks for organising packed lunches for us all to take to waterpark(14). Pool bar for yummy toasties and drinks with a smile. Restaurant team, for getting us all tables for 14, and taking the time to speak to our grandchildren while working your socks off, sorry I didn't catch name's. Lastly to the activity team and a special mention to the leader around pool , a young man who done an excellent job to provide entertainment for all .If you wanted it thank you We made fantastic memories Thankyou All

I would like bringing to your attention a matter regarding the room service we experienced during our stay at your esteemed hotel. Regrettably, we are disappointed with the level of service provided. We waited for an hour to receive assistance with our luggage on our check out, and when we approached the reception the reception line, we were informed that there is only one available agent for the entire hotel premises. This prolonged delay is unacceptable, and it has greatly inconvenienced us. We trust that your esteemed establishment prides itself on providing prompt and efficient service to its guests. Unfortunately, this particular incident has left us feeling dissatisfied with our overall experience. We kindly request that you address this matter promptly and take appropriate measures to improve the room service facilities and ensure a more efficient response time for future guests.

Brilliant hotel that ticked all the boxes. We had a suite that overlooked the sea. Hotel had everything we needed and while not a super posh 5 star it had some wonderful qualities and the kids loved it. But what really made the trip special was the Animation / entertainment team. They worked tirelessly to make sure everyone was happy and having a good time. All of the staff at the hotel were so friendly and had good banter with the kids. Would recommend to anyone.

We have just come back from a family holiday at the Monica Beach Club and had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday dispute some of the negative reviews that have been posted. We had three rooms, all nice and spacious, exceptionally clean and everything as stated, had to ask reception for a kettle which they supplied no bother. Towels and bed linen changed regularly, yes a bit dated but everything was fine and worked, double USB chargers either side of the double bed, brilliant. The food was 3 star food and it is what you expect from a 3 star hotel, always found something nice to eat, started to repeat a bit after the first week, always a selection of fish and meat to eat, kids always found something that they liked. Main pool had enough beds and chairs for everybody and you could always fins somewhere to site, pool side bar was OK, the Sargres was nice and there was a descent selection of spirits, you will have to wait in a queue at peak times but only 5 minutes. Selection of snack was good, Tuna wrap was my go to snack. The beach was a 3 minute walk from the pool and we enjoyed going down in the afternoon after lunch for an hour. We used the big hotel towels for this, you put a 10 euro deposit at reception and can change them everyday if you want. Night time entertainment was basic with a lot of Portuges songs and a lot participation from the Portuguese, nothing wrong with that. Only down side was the queue for the bar, over 10 minutes every time at peak times, I spent too much time in the queue. Location is excellent, in the middle of the Old Town and Strip, we used to walk to either and get a Taxi or a Tuk Tuk back, Taxis are cheaper but harder to get. Tuk Tuk was 10 Euro for 3 people and 20 Euro for 6 people, one price anywhere, Taxis are metered and generally cheaper. It is located at the bottom of a hill so be prepared to walk up a bit of little hill to get on the main road, there are a few nice bars just outside the hotel which are good, 3 euro a pint of local beer. If you have booked a holiday here you will enjoy it if you are a reasonable & have sensible exceptions of a 3 star hotel, enjoy, we certainly did.

I was a bit worried after I booked this hotel and then read the reviews but I had nothing to be worried about! Yes the rooms/apartments are a bit dated but they are cleaned every day - fresh towels and beds dressed too! The main pool was lively and there was entertainment on every day (expect Sunday). The pool bar had nice sandwiches and drinks and you are only a minutes walk to a fabulous beach! The staff couldn’t have been nicer and there is security that go around the complex all night. The only downfall was the food - breakfast was ok but lunch and dinner were not great. I wouldn’t go all inclusive here again but other than that I found it a nice place to stay and great location!

Where do I start 1st I had to different rooms infested with cockroaches. On arrival we changed rooms twice in one night the night staff are awful. 2 young had lost there phones and were begging the reception to print boarding passes he refused. Until I steeped in. Our 3rd room.had no cockroches with a beautiful sea view. Thanks to Carla the day receptionists who were lovely friendly and helpful. The food is basic and repetitive I only stayed 5 nights and I ended up.eating out a few times. This is a massive complex on a very steep hill so oaps and buggy are not Ideal for this hotel. The pool bar and pool are good snack bar good. My only gripe is u can't take a drink or food from there on to the beach which is odd the bar staff and manager Pedro are all happy and helpful. The restaurant just outside the hotel passen does a fab full English for 5 euros I wish I had this sooner. On a whole it was ok for a basic budget holiday but I wouldn't return.

I took my elderly mum for a 10-day break and although I wouldn't usually write a review, I would like anyone planning to go to this hotel to know about the issues we experienced. We were very, very disappointed with the hotel, quite sad when you have been looking forward to a holiday for so long. Before I start on the negative, I will say that the hotel is lucky with the staff, we found everyone to be really helpful and pleasant, especially considering the difficult circumstances and issues that they must have to deal with. The location is wonderful on a beautiful beach and within close proximity to the old town. We made the best of the holiday but will definitely not be back to this hotel! - rooms are not how there are portrayed on the website, we were allocated a room down a hill and to get to it you had to navigate uneven paving, several corridors, and sets of stairs. The room was like a self-catering chalet, nothing like what we had seen on the website. It was so dated, with stained old furniture, black mastic and broken tiles in the bathroom, and dead cockroaches on the terrace. Why were we even allocated this room? I was with my 80-year-old mum and it was pretty obvious this would not work for us - There is only one bar in the evening and you have to queue for your drinks. The hotel was full so the lineup was consistently more than 15 people long, just ridiculous to have to stand in line for 10-15 minutes for a drink - Strangely you had to pick a sitting for your meal times, no spontaneity at this hotel - There was absolutely NO information in the rooms regarding the shuttle bus, where to get the beach towels, the safe, the meal times, etc. Why did the hotel charge 25 Euros for the safe? - We had no towels at all, twice during our 10-day stay - we had to use our beach towels after showering, we were told they would be delivered and they never arrived. - The food was okay but very repetitive - we were not told that there was a bookable Italian restaurant that we could attend during our stay. No ingredients on signs for food, I constantly had to ask as my mum is deathly allergic to seafood - Lots of big groups of young men and young women and no security in the bar. One night a young lad who was clearly completely drunk rushed by the tables of families and couples trying to have a nice relaxing evening and started throwing up over the balcony of the bar for all to see. Not acceptable to have this sort of behavior happening and spoiling everyones evening. - Wifi didn't work outside of the main hotel building, meaning no wifi in our room - Very uneven cobblestones in the main bar, this was not mentioned in the hotel description, and being with an elderly person, we would not have stayed here if I had known in advance

We’ve just returned from a week at Monica Isabel, we went as a group of 6 there was 3 couples and we all had our own room as a couple, the rooms were ok extremely average and out dated, we asked at reception for a new room when we arrived as the pictures online are not what we were given, the assistant on reception laughed and said the pictures on the website are “model rooms” and that we could come back the next morning if we wanted a new room but that there isn’t much chance of them changing us. We went all inclusive but I wish we hadn’t as we only ate breakfast one morning in the hotel and dinner one evening in the Italian buffet in the hotel, the food was veryyy basic and they also give you time slots for breakfast lunch and dinner, our breakfast was from 7-9am which is ridiculously early for breakfast to be finishing at, the drinks were ok but alcohol was very watered down. The rooms were clean but the maids come into the room each day but do not change the bed sheets or towels only every second day- to save the environment To get to the pool you have to walk down a very steep hill on uneven ground to get to it, this also means when leaving the pool you have to walk back up this hill, We were located in Block C which was near the end of the hill but reception was right at the top of the hill, we were all in our 20s but if anyone struggled with walking or was of an elderly age they would have struggled massively- this really turned us off the hotel as this was not mentioned on any of the websites that the pool was separate to the hotel. Over all I would go back to albufeira but I would not return to this hotel. The staff were mostly rude and acted like you were an inconvenience to them mostly on reception The staff at the main bar were very helpful and chatty and the maids were all very happy and cheerful when meeting us If you are on a budget and looking for somewhere basic I would recommend but be prepared for the hills surrounding the hotel
