I rarely do reviews, but we ate here with two teenage daughters and everyone loved it. Fillet steak was fantastic, well worth a visit.

The owner and the menu have changed, nothing like before. Honestly don't bother going. One of the super unpleasant waitresses didn't even ask us if we wanted bread. Dried clams for an exorbitant price of 24e. And the fish is edible but nothing that you wouldn't eat at home. A disaster. Let's go

Perfect spot for dinner with excellent service (English speaking) and great food. Most tourist places are too noisy for decent conversations. Pepper steak was about a 10-oz portion and so tender. The best steak ever. Ordered it medium rare. Could barely finish it. The chicken filet with mushroom sauce was delectable, also too much and took half as take-away. The sea bass is fresh and tasty, and guest was so stuffed eating it all. The fish filet special is breaded, not grilled. Be sure to ask server which you prefer. My favorite is the sardine pate and amazing olives. Their bread uses a rye starter for incredible texture. 5 thumbs up!

Parking: The street narrows so best to park up the hill for free parking by the municipal building. 10-minute leisurely pace up the hill.

Brilliant little spot, found it on our last day. Had steak in other places around the area but this was by far the best. Would highly recommend. Will return in the future

We had been to O Mangar for lunch and tonight we were there for dinner. The food was excellent as was the service. I enjoyed the chicken fillet in mushroom sauce. It came with scalloped potatoes, lots of vegetables and a salad around 16 Euros. My husband had fish fillets with tomato rice. It is not the typical tourist fare with French fries and a bit of lettuce but real Portuguese food. The owners and the cook are Portuguese. It is a small restaurant but well worth trying it out.
