Rock Cafe Bar had a really good atmosphere with live music and a perfect way to start the night. Plenty of beers to choose from and a great choice of cocktails

Managers were awful and made us feel super uncomfortable the whole time. They were very rude to their staff, shouting at them to do their job. Would not leave us alone when we said we needed 2 more minutes and continued harassing us when we asked to move table as we were not informed we could not have drinks and food at our own pace. The main manager told us to stop confusing him and said that we were messing him around when we simply asked where the appropriate place to watch the football was in his business.

We didn’t get a chance to taste anything because when we just wanted to start with cocktails and bread the old man was like, no dinner? Just this? And although he didn’t say it out loud he was definitely telling by body language: get out of here and make place for someone who orders a lot of food… which is too bad. We wanted to drink, and eat. But not everything at once.

Music was very loud, but a good singer. Lot of people already a bit tipsy singing with him.

I give it one star because I can't give it 0, the owner is super rude, just go through the comments and the general opinion comes straight away, I don't recommend it to anyone.

The Rock Cafe features the band called the Pin Ups... A must see if you love classic rock! I recommend this to all our guests! Two years later....I went from rating this place from 5/5 stars to a 1/5 stars... The only reason we went to Rock Cafe was for the live band called the Pin Ups.. Apparently, money is an issue with the owner, and the band isn't there any more. They've been let go... So we follow the band and won't come back, unless they do that is. (btw, I have no affiliation. I'm a Canadian living in Portugal for 7 years now) Was going to bring 13 friends who just arrived this Tues, but no more... Sad when owners don't understand how much their team contributes to their bottom line. I guess they'll find out soon enough... So many getting the word out. No pinups, no patrons. XoPlease bring them back...This site won't let me post lower than 3 stars... Odd...

So wanted to give 5 stars. Music amazing and service great right until the last drink. Ordered two (of the same) cocktails at the end of my night: first was great; second was sugar and water with a splash of alcohol (I watched both of them being poured).

Wandering the streets of Albufeira can be thirsty work, especially as the temperatures this past fall were hotter than normal and it was a bright sunny morning. That therefore called for a break and the Largo Engenheiro Duarte Pacheco a large square in the centre of town seemed the logical place. There were plenty of cafes and bars surrounding the square and despite it being before noon, many were open to take advantage of the breakfast trade. We chose the Rock Café, probably not because of the name, we were seeking a morning coffee not an evening on the town, but because it had a large inviting patio that was open. Service was fast and friendly and we made it clear we didn’t need menus as we already had a large breakfast at our hotel. Coffee, tea, for my wife and pastries, including their take on the famous pastel de nata were ordered and quickly delivered. We took our time enjoying them, and they were good, and people watching over the nearby square, delaying the inevitable, that we’d have to go back to our hotel and check out bringing our stay in Albufeira to a close. Before we left, I needed to use their bathroom. It was in the basement but surprising clean and modern. Signs outside the café noted that the washroom was for customers only which made sense considering the number of nearby bars and what was probably a lot of traffic in the evenings. Funny enough though a sign on the washroom door said that that it was free for customers but cost a couple of Euros for non patrons. Pretty enterprising I thought.
