A locally owned restaurant that serves an elevated Portuguese inspired tasting menu. With seating inside an old windmill, it’s a very romantic setting with excellent service by the owner.

My partner and I had an unforgettable dining experience at this charming windmill restaurant in the Algarve, Portugal, easily the best we've encountered in the region. The reservation process was a breeze, handled efficiently over email. Despite my specific request for a window seat, they humorously informed us we’d gotten the second-best view in the windmill—of two available windows. It turns out the premier view overlooking all of Albufeira is booked months ahead!
Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by our waiter, Nuno, who spoke perfect English and was incredibly accommodating. The windmill itself offers a quaint terrace seating—just two tables for couples and a larger table for six nestled centrally. Stepping inside this historical gem, we navigated steep stairs, which Nuno attentively pointed out, especially as my wife is pregnant. Although the lack of AC (forbidden in this historical site) could have been a setback, Nuno thoughtfully provided a Spanish hand fan to keep us comfortable.
The food was nothing short of exquisite: a three-course meal priced at €70 may seem steep for the area, but it was absolutely justified by the quality—worthy of a Michelin star, in our opinion. We had choices of three starters, four mains, and two desserts, each dish confirming the high culinary standard.
Nuno’s service throughout the meal was flawless, making us feel truly special. It was also quite refreshing to see a more sophisticated crowd here, a nice change from the usual shorts and flip-flops attire elsewhere in the region.
All in all, this was a stellar experience—highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable meal in the Algarve. A perfect blend of ambiance, service, and culinary delight.

Why doesn’t this place have a Michelin star?! We sat on the terrace with amazing views over Albufeira. Our waiter Nunu was exceptional in his knowledge and level of service. He had a fantastic understanding of the menu and was very attentive. The food was incredible, both in appearance and taste. So glad we managed to visit on our first trip to Portugal. Would highly recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Amazing! Liza and Steve

It was without a doubt the best dinner I have ever had, our waiter named Antonio was incredibly kind and helpful to us, attentive to all the details and knew all the languages, he gave us exceptional treatment and made the night very special without a doubt. highly recommended doubt. The food was excellent especially the roast lamb and butters. If I were rich I would be dining there every night, but unfortunately for me I can only go once in my life. Thank you very much to all.

Windmill in Albufeira is truly a hidden gem. Nestled within a charming old windmill, this restaurant offers an incredibly romantic and suggestive atmosphere that is perfect for a memorable dining experience. The stunning view from the windmill adds to the magic, making it an ideal spot for a special evening.
The staff here are exceptionally welcoming and attentive, taking the time to explain each dish and wine selection in great detail. Their passion for food and hospitality is evident and adds a personal touch to the dining experience.
The menu is gourmet and reminiscent of a Michelin-starred restaurant, with creative and beautifully presented dishes that tantalize the taste buds. Despite the high quality of the food, the prices are very reasonable, offering excellent value for a gourmet experience.
Overall, Windmill is a must-visit in Albufeira. Whether you're a foodie, a wine enthusiast, or just looking for a picturesque and romantic setting, this restaurant ticks all the boxes. Highly recommended!

Tiny little restaurant in a windmill with beautiful views, attentive service and fine dining. There is only seating for 12 inside so book in advance. Service was fantastic. Food and wine both lovely. Set menu. Highly recommend the Portuguese tart for dessert. Lovely treat while staying in Albufeira.

Excellent lunch while swimming in the pool. We had an omelet with cheese and ham and a chicken salad with vegetables. Both very good and done quickly. You can sit inside the restaurant, outside, or the staff will bring your food to you on a sun lounger by the pool. Otherwise, a wide selection of food, breakfast until 11:30, drinks and shakes and smoothies.

Beautiful restaurant in a historic windmill. We were lucky and got one of the two tables by the window with the view of old Albufeira town. The food was excellent and each course was a visual highlight. The service was outstanding. Many thanks to our waiter Francisco, who made our stay unforgettable.
