Myself and my husband visit Amarante every year and have done for the last 9 years...we always head for Estotil as soon as we arrive and will often opt for this family rin restaurant twice during our stay...this time however the service was surly as if they were doing us a favour ..we asked for cheese and ham along with a salad to start and couldn't believe how tiny the portion size was ..when we requested more it was met with a look.My main meal sea bass was tiny and overcooked ...we will now not return to Estoril to eat when we return to Amarante and that's a shame as we like to support family run businesses...noted also not a greeting or a smile from any of the staff..there are many places to eat in Amarante that are pleased with your business

Our guide Jorge recommended this touristic resto on the main street of the town. We managed to snag one of the coveted tables on the terrace with a river view. Cool! I ordered the grilled sea bream with potatoes and cabbage. My wife ordered the sea bass. Both were whole fish and excellent. With coffee, 20E. I rated this resto much higher than the overall rating. It was deserving.

A little gem in Amarante. Family runned. Good food, reasonable prices. Good house wines by the bottle. Sitting in a covered terrace with views of the river. My husband had the pork and I had the salmon steak. Lots of vegetables and potatoes. Very tasty. Good friendly service. Recommended.

Looking for a light lunch, Estoril is uninviting from outside. Inside it is a bustling local restaurant with the best balcony and views. The food is tasty, large, simple Portuguese. We had melon and ham, sardines and salad. All tasty. Seemed very cheap to us. Service was friendly and welcoming.
