A very pleasant restaurant located feet away from the Cathedral. The staff was very welcoming and hence why we chose this place. The order was taken quickly and we had to wait less than 15 minutes to receive our food. The dishes were well prepared and delicious, the portion size was just about right. Even though the food was very good, I believe they're in the higher price range.

What a lovely restaurant! The food is all home cooked, the people are really nice and accommodating and the service is excellent! This is not a pretentious place. An honest traditional home cooked type of place.I would highly recommend it!!

Overpriced for Portugal! A TOURIST TRAP (sad to see places like this), We are local and know the normal prices. An order of clams comes with 20 small clams (too salty) for 13 Euros!!…and less than 200 grams of fish for 20 Euros that is way too much! The same fish sales for 20 Euros per Kilo at the store. A lunch for 2 should not be 60 Euros in Portugal. Nice view, high prices. 3 Euros per person fixed cost for napkin and table cloths how ridiculous! I’m happy they don’t charge you for forks and knives…I would not return

My own interpretation is, that many unpleasant comments about the service are not completely wrong. I understand when people are angry about the service. I saw this xenophobic, arrogant behavior first hand. The food is not damaging people but the kitchen in not consistant to put it politely. I purposely had the same dish on a second visit. This could be a nice restaurant if only they would replace the whole crew. Doing something for along time and still doing it wrong does not make someone a professional, hence a bunch of clueless amateurs are foating around.

Amazing food, cold beer, great drinks, awesome deserts, and an amazing view of the Monastery. A must to.

A delicious tourist trap. The chicken in a pot was tasty, the grilled sardines as well and the mixed salad was really fresh.Extra charges apply...service charge plus 'couvert' charge. It adds up!One glass house wine 5 euro, grrrrrrPay attention when the check comes: with us they wrote an extra glass of wine (that we did not order nor received), they probably think tourists do not notice.Nice place outside on the terrace.

Great food, great service. Family run atmosphere. Can't wait to dine here regularly when we move to Alocbaça in a few months!

Over-priced tourist food. I've eaten here three times over the past year, and have been disappointed all three times, I should have learned from my first mistake but felt that perhaps I had just ordered incorrectly on previous visits. Nope, it's just over-priced tourist food.

A really nice located place. Good oysters and wine. The chicken in a pot was very disappointing. Just some chicken thighs cooked in a lot of oil and some tinned mushrooms and then served in a pot. Nothing exciting at all and was not worth the €9.95. The wine was lovely but €5.50 for a glass when the bottle costs the same in continente is taking the Mickey. The service is exceptional, very friendly and for that I give it an extra star. When going to the toilet they should think about covering the desserts as there were some flies on them.

It was our pleasant surprise in Alcobaça. We run to this restaurant by accident and we were really amazed by the food, service and wonderful attitude! We really felt like being a very welcomed guests in la casa! We were coming back already several times and we’ll come back again! Wine is fantastic, from the starters we always took melon with ham and zukkini flowers, unforgettable!!Sea bass is really fresh and juicy and risotto with monkfish and prawns are reminding us that risotto it’s not just rice it’s combination of taste and aftertastes. This risotto was excellent! And you must leave the place for the exceptional desserts! Almond tart and almond cake will bring you to the heaven literally! This place was created to enjoy life fully via food and warm atmosphere there! We’re their constant clients now.
