Visited June 2024, a very positive experience. Salome, the lady who welcomed us, treated us like family. He satisfied us with everything! Delicious food, generous portions. Good wine. Reasonable prices. In the restaurant there are also two Ronaldo shirts with his signature and this drove the guys crazy who had a nice conversation with the owner about his acquaintance with the champion. The restaurant is located in the pedestrian area. Alcochete is a very pretty village.

The town of Alcochete is one of the places I like to visit, both for its beauty and its typical, non-touristy atmosphere, but also for its gastronomy, where you can still find several traditional restaurants with quick, efficient service and still affordable prices. On my visit, the choice was Restaurante O Marítimo, an old Portuguese space. The restaurant fills up quickly but the service is super fast. To begin with, starters came with Bread and the famous Queijo Fresco. The main choice fell on the wonderful and extremely well prepared and well served Choco Frito à Setúbal which comes accompanied by Pala Pala Fries, White Rice and a generous Mixed Salad seasoned to the Customer's taste. I accompanied it with White Wine from Pegões (they only have House White Wine on Draft which is a "danger") and finished with a good Homemade Camel Baba. Typical old-fashioned restaurant, with quick, professional service and a price of around €23 per person. Super recommended!

The first time I tried to go to dinner with my husband, the terrace was half full and it was 9:30 am. We asked for a table and one of the employees, who owes a lot to their friendliness, looked at his watch and said "we are no longer serving at this time"!!! Well... I thought either the grill man was absent or the cook was sick and today we tried again... we even went early... it was a few minutes after 9am! Same answer. Terrace with 1 dozen people. They informed me that since confinement they closed at 9pm. So you already know, at sea in alcochete you either go for a snack or dinner is something to forget!!!! What will it be like at lunch time? The fire department siren sounds at 12pm....and at 1pm it's time to get off your chair because it's getting late! ?
Nice food. Bad environment. Full of flies, impossible to have a peaceful lunch. We spent the entire lunch trying to keep the flies away... When we spoke to the employee, we were criticized and told that if we came back, we should do him a favor by not sitting on the street so he wouldn't get upset. And the boss shouting about the same situation. Indecency.

This time we went to the restaurant "O MARÍTIMO" recommended by friends and IT'S REALLY 5 ⭐️ The quality and QUANTITY of the doses couldn't be better, both the fried cuttlefish and the sardines. Accompany with a generous salad! Quality white wine on tap and a delicious and original biscuit cake! The staff was very attentive to the customer's needs. SUPER fast service Coming back soon! One of the worst restaurant experiences in my life.
We sat outside, lunch was served, over 10 flies started to surround us and land on our food. We asked the waiter to move to the inside. He started shouting at us saying that inside was full. Fair enough, so we politely asked just to go to a different table away from the grill because it was just too much too handle with all the flies. At this point another employee by the grill starts shouting extremely so that the entire restaurant could hear it: “it’s lunch time now! All the flies are out”. At some point the first waiter started shouting at my wife as if he was about to fight her.
This experience was so bad, that I never want to go back to Alcochete again. I’d rate this 0 stars if I could.
