Surprised by the restaurant was full (walk in or first come first serve) policy and offered us unacceptable label inside like they were doing us a favour! Front manager or owner lack of courtesy and have negative attitude to basically told us to leave with zero sympathy but opposite to git rid of us asap. Another couples had the same treatment and we both got our night spoiled with arrogant manager at Bougain!

I recently made a reservation at Bougain Restaurant and was extremely disappointed with the experience. Despite having a confirmed reservation, I was told upon arrival that it was "first come, first serve." This completely undermined the purpose of making a reservation in the first place.if that’s how things works then just make a walk-in policy.
To make matters worse, the reception lady/manager had a terrible attitude and were unhelpful and dismissive when I pointed out that I had a reservation. Their lack of professionalism and poor customer service left a lot to be desired.
This experience was incredibly frustrating and I will not be returning. In front of us was another couple who struggle with the same issue while they were turist and booked 2 months in advance. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a reliable and courteous service.

Google failed me, we are sure that the reviews are from people who were in the restaurant or I was not lucky that day The restaurant is very nice, well decorated and a good atmosphere, the service is professional and correct, but the food…. The smaller oysters couldn't have been, I would never have served them and they weren't extraordinary in flavor either, charging for half a dozen at 18 euros is not worth it The pasta with seafood €28, where there were only 3 chopped prawns and some cockles and instead of thickening the sauce with the juice itself, they thought of adding cream. Horrible Duck €28 is also not worth a dish that is bland in decoration and without anything new to offer to a classic dish. In my opinion it is very overrated, not only do you have to pay for the place, you also have to pay attention to the food Total price of food 2 people €150

After our visit last year, we were really looking forward to returning, but unfortunately the experience there was rather poor. The day before the visit, a text message was sent that the tables in the outdoor area would be allocated on a first come basis - which was difficult for us because we had reserved at 8 p.m. So we unfortunately got a table inside, the ambience inside was also nice, but unfortunately completely uncooled and stuffy. Service was okay except for the wine service. Our cellar opened a wine (of a different vintage than on the menu) and poured a wine glass halfway full and shook the wine in it, then gave us the glass to try - he repeated this procedure with the other glass - very, very strange. Food was okay, meat from the carpaccio didn't taste like anything, meat from the entrecote was very good, fries were cold and unseasoned, tiramisu was okay. The bill had a tip recommendation on it, so we put in the cash to cover the amount. After returning the money, we discovered that the tip listed had simply been withheld without our approval. Unfortunately, that's not possible and just rounds off our bad impression. We were very disappointed at how the restaurant has deteriorated within a year and won't be coming back.

First of all, our reservation was at 21.30 but we were sat 15 minutes later. We didn't get one of the items we ordered. Service was slow, we waited for the main dishes for an hour and Entrecote steak was too spicy and nearly inedible. The waiters seemed uninterested, they took away our plate with our food still left on it. The restaurant seemed way overpriced given the service and food they offer.

Very cute place and very well decorated but food and service were disappointing. The carpaccio had no flavor, it seemed like it was purchased from a makro and defrosted. The beef tartare had no flavor and the meat was difficult to chew. The fries were great. The service was VERY slow. A shame as I had high expectations for this restaurant.

This was an absolutely amazing dinner. The restaurant is beautiful, the staff and service was top notch and the food was some of the best we had in Portugal. The prawns was the single best dish I had in Portugal and the jalapeño mule was the best drink my fiancé has ever had. I’d do anything to go back there for dinner right now, so if you are in Cascais, you must go!
