We entered by chance because it was close to my accommodation, a very exclusive restaurant, the food was excellent, very well cooked and presented. And in terms of service, I give it 4 stars for not having a menu in Spanish, being a country that Spaniards love to visit (we are neighbors).

Terrible service, it took a long time to serve and the restaurant is very noisy, which doesn't fit with what we were expecting. The steaks were tough and I have never seen a piece of sirloin with a fried egg on top!!!! Poor quality fries, not to mention that they were frozen. Considering the level of prices charged, it was a bad experience. Uncomfortable chairs. There is a lot to improve if they want to win customers.

A very well prepared and a little daring cuisine such as the quail legs with flaked almonds, the browned eggs with ham or the mushrooms with a very well prepared and not at all cloying sauce, this time I stuck to the starters but I'll be wanting to go back.

A beautiful and refined space, within the typical regional style, and careful service make the difference in this restaurant. The menu is varied and the food is excellent and well presented, especially the chipped cod with broccoli crumbs. Great desserts and a good wine list full of options from the region. The price is not cheap but it is in line with its level. It is in the middle of a small village and is a good option in this beautiful area.

Here you play fine dining more than you perform! Really slow and uncommitted service despite 4 tables booked on a Saturday(?). I ordered a pulpo carbonara which came in rubbery little shaped circles, drenched in a way too oversalted sauce. The waitress also put my food in the middle of the table instead of in front of me for a very unclear reason. My party ordered fish, veg and meat, of which the components of all dishes stood out clearly. Nothing felt thought through, just limp and boring. 3/5 people slept with stomach cramps the night after.. really not recommended!
I can honestly say they are one of my favourites. The food and team at Pateo Velho are terrific. They pay attention to detail and flavour. They’re so wonderful, we will be using their catering service for our wedding.
