Absurd lack of ethics from the manager. My mother arrived at the restaurant at 1pm and asked what time the kitchen closed. They said 4 times that it closed at 4pm. 3 people arrived at 3:05 pm and went to place our order at 3:19 pm. The manager said the kitchen was closed. The waitress said that she had actually told us that it closed at 4pm and that she would confirm with the kitchen if it would still be available to which the manager said: no, it is closed. It wouldn't even have occurred to me to make this review if we had arrived at 3:50 pm or close to closing time, however we confirmed that it would be no problem to place the order before 4 pm, the order attempt was made at 3:19 pm. In no way was there an apology, we were ordering pregos and octopus salad. The complaints book was requested and Mr Jorge Lopes said he would get the book. Conveniently it was taking a long time and my mother said she would then wait on the terrace for the book. 5 minutes after she sat down they locked the doors and said they were closed. I tried knocking on 2 different doors and they didn't open them for me but they opened them for another lady and with that I asked to know the manager's name and remember the situation. In 2 minutes you brought me the complaints book. It is important to inform you whether or not I have a perfect Portuguese accent while my mother has a Portuguese accent.

An historical place to visit and have a wonderful meal. Plenty of space, tranquility and quality. The service is excellent, always with attention to details and the needs that you may have.
The food is done as requested with extraordinary quality and love by a marvelous lady.
Deserts done in house it's hard to choose just one.
Definitely a visit to repeat!

Kitchen with history. Quality and service. They insist on maintaining the quality that made them famous since Nova Marginal in Cruz Quebrada. The steak with special sauce, now, Caravela sauce. The fresh seafood. Fish or meat, and the caramel mousse (which I ate as a kid in Nova Marginal) now trivialized as camel drool.

Real cod! Location further away from classic tourism. Very well served portion and of extreme quality and origin. I recommend!

A truly memorable experience, from the quality of the service, to the quality of the ingredients and culminating in the quality of the cooking, it is, to this day, the best restaurant (of many) that I have been able to experience. Extraordinary fish dish, meat dish with meat cooked to medium rare, melting in your mouth. Small touches of national customization with small delicious notes, such as the barnacles at the entrance and the final digestives. I'm a fan, I'll have to go back to confirm this wonderful experience, I highly recommend it.

A classic in Algés. Nothing to point out. "Old-fashioned" place, which in this case is a compliment.

Expensive food and nothing out of this world. The service is bad as they take a long time to come to the tables and it seems like the customer is working for the restaurant from the way they spoke to us
