Being born in Luanda Angola, when I found out about the restaurant, it was a must for me to try but I recommend to anyone looking for authentic Portuguese cuisine at very reasonable prices. Our bill was $50 euros for three adults including drinks (full botyle of wine), dessert and coffee and the portions won't disappoint. Located in Alges area of Lisboa, the restaurant was an easy stroll from our rented condo. It had good hours even for us North Americans who like to eat a little earlier and only one step to enter making it easily accessible. When you see locals coming in for takeout as well coming in and eating with family and friends, you know it's going to be good. Service was excellent, great selection of food from meat to seafood on the menu and even though they only had the menu in Portuguese, our server was excellent translating, answering any of our questions and explaining all dishes. Like many other family run restaurants in Lisboa, there are specific dishes only available on certain days with daily specials also on the menu. As you can understand, good, homemade traditional cooking and dishes need to be prepped in advance unless you can wait 2 or 3 hrs for your dinner for them to make it fresh at that time. The only thing that disappointed us was that we only at at the restaurant once during our stay in Alges and I missed the chicken Mumba day which is Thursdays. Loved the restaurant and ambience and can't wait to eat here again when I return to Lisboa even if I stay in another area of the city.

Dietary restrictions: Many options.

Kid-friendliness: Many families present when I ate at restaurant

Simple restaurant but the service was very friendly, especially from the person in charge. The food was well prepared and with the right ingredients in the dishes suggested to us. Thank you for your honesty and attention, I will return as soon as possible.

Typical Portuguese atmosphere. Tourists haven't discovered it yet and I hope they don't find out?. Very friendly and attentive staff. Very tasty food. My children and I really liked it. Adequate price for the quality and quantity of food served. Coming back, without a doubt ?
