“We called in for a light lunch and a taste of local wine and port. Parking was so easy and we were warmly greeted. The setting is sensational right on top of the river. The food was great bar food my husband had cheese and sausage I had a delicious duck salad then we had port ice cream and port cake all delicious.“

“On our first evening in Pinhao I was perturbed to find that most of the bars closed, so was relieved to find O-Por-co open. My heart sank however when the beer tap gurgled its last just as we ordered and the barmaid advised that there was none left. Fortunately we found a bar across the road that was open, but I must say that my first impressions of Pinhao were very negative. The following evening, everything was open and I had to laugh when the barmaid gave me a cheeky smile and assured me that she had some beer on tap.
