We had a gorgeous meal here tonight, in a restaurant seemingly full of locals. The food was good quality local food, so really good fish (we had sea bass and a stew of shrimps and bread). Starters were good too, a fresh salad and a stuffed mushroom dish. The setting is nice, clean and modern, and the staff were great, including a waiter who spoke excellent English which we appreciated. We were really glad to have stepped out of our hotel and found this restaurant.
One of the best meals we’ve had. Great selection of different dishes on the menu, beautifully cooked and presented. Friendly staff and really good service. We were a group of 6 and we all had a really great evening.

We had such a wonderful experience, the service was great the food was unbelievable. Thank you so much
Excellent food and service.
One of the most satisfying restaurants in which I have ever dined. Everything about it was superb, and the lamb was about the best ever. Very knowledgable and attentive staff. Awesome chef. This should be a Michelin star.
Great restaurant. Food was fantastic, service impeccable. Inside very nice.
Great little place. The staff were very friendly and service was excellent. I had the veal with wild mushroom rice, I can highly recommend it. Stunning food and a good selection of fine wines. Great place, I’d definitely come back.

We had a large group for dinner, they accommodated us extremely well for an enjoyable evening. Menu had a wide variety of choices, our group sampled many of them and almost everything was thumbs up. Staff service was excellent and one of the waiters who spent many years in the USA spoke excellent colloquial English. Prices were very fair and considering there are so few better dining options around town, we felt this was a great spot. By the way, their chilled white port with tonic cocktail before dinner was nothing I would ever have ordered, but 9 out of 10 of us all loved it!
This restaurant is unpretentious, much like the Portuguese we have met, but the food is authentic, original and local. The wine selection well exceeds my capacity to comprehend the diverse and excellent wines of Portugal and the Duoro.
Great place, friendly smiling staff, good prices. Went there for dinner whilst staying in Alijo rather than eating in our hotel. We booked a table for the following evening, Friday, and they only had a table for two left. Food excellent, staff helpful and friendly. We don't really speak any Portuguese, but one of the guys there had lived for 30 years in New York, so was extremely helpful. Prices very reasonable, clean, tidy, good selection of wine...
We first missed the place as we thought the cafe next door was the restaurant. Place itself is not that charming, but the owners and food are. The goat cheese salad and Brie salad were great starters. Steak and dorade were tasty too. Just ask the owner for his wine recommendation and enjoy
After a long, uphill hike to Alijo, we were happy we had reserved a table for 19:30, when Cepa Torta opened. It is about 1/2 km for the center of Alijo on an unassuming block. Within 15 minutes, the restaurant was filled with locals. We shortly discovered why -- the food was a good as any we had during 3 weeks in Portugal. The marinated pork cheeks I had were stunning. From the delicious Alheira (local sausage) appetizer to the MAPA port after dessert, it was a memorable meal.
