I confess that my expectations were not very high, as it is a tourist area, with a large flow of people. However, I was surprised by the quality of the ingredients and the dough, which rival the best pizzerias in Porto.

“Another surprising restaurant in the Algarve! We didn’t expect much but were pleasantly impressed. Our waiter was extremely pleasant and we had fun joking with him. The raw oysters were the best we’ve had in Portugal accompanied by a nice inexpensive white wine. Our Portuguese style tuna was a welcome change from the regular seared tuna and much appreciated. Finished off with cheesecake and a local delicacy, a carob, fig and almond tart… superb! One of our best lunches in the Algarve!”

“Eddy's is een restaurant aan de weg in Monte Gordo. Maar erg gastvrij ontvangst, advies gekregen voor een prima witte wijn. Het eten was eigenlijk goed maar net geen top omdat de kip Piri Piri, wat droog was en de Piri Piri smaak niet helemaal naar Corendon kwam. De espresso was overigens heerlijk zoals het hoort. Ga er gerust eten vij Eddy, daar krijg je echt geen spijt van Gastvrij, lekker eten. Doen hoor!”

Having had the chance to travel to southern India, we are always tempted by Indian restaurants, although often disappointed.
The cuisine is from North India, so some differences with what we know:
The Naan is a little thicker, the paratha is a kind I didn't know, made with wholemeal flour.
Very positive point: they produce real paneer (a rare thing, often replaced by laughing cow).
We ate vegetarian:
Overall good spices (not necessarily spicy), quality dishes, in good quantity for the price.
The server asks you for the spice level, and adapted perfectly to our desires.
