This is the perfect place for meat lovers. Huge portions, well cooked meat. But don’t expect much more. We were welcomed by a very young lady who apparently had no care at all serving us (things like welcome, please, thank you,… were completely absent), the surroundings are quite sketchy, view on the restaurant ‘s parking lot and garbages bin. But for sure, we did eat well and cheap.

Really delicious, authentic barbecue. The mixed grill was plentiful for 2, we took some away. Lovely to watch the meat being grilled from the table. Lots of locals dining which is always a good sign. It was all so good we came back twice! Marco was particularly great and made us laugh with his humour, a credit to the restaurant. Will come back next time we're in Madeira!

If you want grilled BBQ meat and happen to be in the São Vicente area - look no further! The best steaks and grilled food on the island. No frills but that is not important. Many locals (of which I am one...) eat here. Just great!

High quality meat given the precise amount of spice and time over the open fire - that’s the winning formula of Brasa Viva, a small eatery outside Sao Vicente. We ordered too much food, but ended up eating it all, leaving with happy smiles and stomach aches: - Esperada de frango (chicken skewer) - Espetada de vaca (beef skewer) - Porc ribs - French fries - Salad - Draught beer It’s simple, but tasty. Meat cooked to perfection (we asked for medium rare beef - and got it). If you like your food spicy, remember to ask for piri-piri. The price for this scrumptious orgy for 2 persons: €41,90 - which is very, very cheap given the fact that we are not able to eat for the next week or two.
