Very good place. Nice clean.
Fried calamari and garlic shrimp was ok, but not worth an extra visit. Was charged 12€ for bread and unable to pay with card (tried 5 different ones.
I ate steak sandwich and chips and it was amazing!!! The meat was very very tasteful and chips were homemade!!!! How lovely ? And also the staff was very friendly!
We stopped here on a stroll round Funchal and only wanted a small amount of food. We asked for chicken escalopes and salad to share. Not possible. To share a meal you have to pay extra. An extra charge for a plate and a fork ! So much washing up. We’d ordered wine so we paid for that and left. The restaurant lost out on everything else we would have ordered. We moved on to a more accommodating venue.
Nice place, reasonable prices, excellent English speaking staff, fast serving, and very tasty food! Place is very chilly, you won't get bothered by the sun, anytime of the day.
It's alright for someone who is starving.

We were welcomed warmly, invited to seat and talked through the menu. Lots of market fresh seafood on offer. We weren’t quite sure what one of the dishes was so we were shown our prospective lunch! In end we had a variety of fish, prawns and octopus served on a plate to share with an amazing fresh salad, bread and hand cut chips. To finish we had cold custard tart with espresso!! Lovely ambiance on a quiet lane with a gentle breeze, warm welcome and fresh fresh food. We will be back. Many thanks.
We have just come back from this lovely restaurant run by husband and wife. Joseph was the chef and Antoinette front of house. Superb homely atmosphere with excellent authentic Madeira food. If you look for good food and value for money look no further. This is the place to go. We will be going back.
Fabulous service, a genuine understated gem. Probably the best Calamari / baby squid I've ever had. We'll worth a visit if you're in Funchal.

Excellent place for light lunch today near my apartment, a first visit to the restaurant. Antonieta was very welcoming and friendly. While today I just had a salad I will be back soon for a more substantial meal as the ones I saw looked delicious. Desserts are home made too. Due to the Madeira holidays a lot of their regular local customers are on holiday so they currently serve till 5/6pm only. The tables nearby were saying how much they loved the food and I observed they are very family friendly. I have been coming regularly to Funchal since 1981 and been to countless restaurants and I thought this one was excellent.
