Typical restaurant with traditional Portuguese cuisine. Rustic/medieval atmosphere. Very friendly employees. Large doses. Own manufacture of all products and ingredients.

We have been customers for many years, management has changed, yes, but the good employees prevail and so does the food! We all know that we are in peak season and that's good, because the economy needs it, but labor is in short supply and we all have to understand! The food remains the same and so does the service! More understanding, we are all human beings!

Place with very good food and very friendly and helpful employees. The price is a little high but the portions are generous.

Order ordered online on the restaurant's own page, 30 minutes before the scheduled delivery time I received a call from the establishment apologizing for the delay, but the most incredible thing is that they were unable to give an estimate of how long it would take, with due respect for the people who work at the establishment and do their best, we saw a house completely on fire!
When incompetent people take on businesses they don't understand, we have these results... time will tell the rest!
One of those restaurants that you can go to in winter or summer.....
Going as a 15-year-old as an adult at 50.....
Going during the week like going on the weekend.....
Going alone or going with someone....
It's one of those that always deserves a visit.....

I had dinner there on Thursday 11/07, I was going with my family, including a one and a half year old baby, and the receptionist tried to put us in an empty room at the bottom, as I rejected it and wanted the main room on the first floor, the employee was displeased giving the impression that he didn't want the baby to be in the main hall. If you are not going to allow children for dinner, let them know so parents can remove them without causing discomfort.

Bad choice! I have never been so unwelcome in a restaurant ?
On 06-07-2024, we were a group of 20 people for lunch,
Everyone ordered according to their taste, from chicken, cod, squid, barbecue...
The food wasn't anything special. The employee who served us was extremely unpleasant during the service.
The problem was when making the payment! We asked to pay individually for what each one ate. The employee said that he already had the bill made and that it couldn't be done, as it would be a lot of work, which is how it works (paying for a table!!)... the worst part is that he also mentioned that we had never been to a restaurant ? You're right... not a restaurant like this
This so-called employee does not captivate anyone. I won't be back, for sure.

My parents have been eating at this restaurant for over 50 years, they had it as their wedding party 47 years ago. Yesterday, we booked a table in time and asked if it wasn't better to leave the kg of piglet already ordered, the lady (perhaps Venezuelan) said that it wasn't necessary. If we didn't eat, we ordered grilled squid. It looked good, but I hate shrimp and the menu doesn't indicate that it is grilled squid and shrimp. The squid were poorly cooked, completely raw, served with boiled potatoes. They took the olives at the entrance without anyone noticing, they ate 2 or so, to continue tasting them with the menu, they took them, and we paid as if we had eaten them all. 5 people, we pay for 5 loaves, 5 loaves where? €4.5 for bread? Management changed, the production got worse, the service was always rushed and not friendly, the house was always full of people. Prices increased, and quality worsened. For €60 per kg of Leitão, I no longer recommend this restaurant.

I have been a customer of this restaurant for 50 years, always well served, but apparently there was a change of management and yesterday 9/6/2024 we were a group of 6 people, we arrived at 12:45 we ordered suckling pig, the information from the server, is that it has already It wasn't sold out, when I looked at the room, not even half were there, they put olives and bread on the table, we ordered 3 doses of cod with cream, barbecue chicken and fries, this before 1pm, time passed and at 1:30pm I asked the waiter about lunch and he told me he was leaving, at 1:45 pm I repeated the question, it's almost there, he said, finally it was already past 2 pm when lunch appeared, more than an hour after ordering. But the worst was when we started to eat, the cod with cream was poorly cooked, the cream was sour, the barbecue chicken was poorly grilled raw inside, in other words, where is that quality and the abundance that was common in Abílio? There is talk that the management is different, I asked the servant about it, and although he was hesitant at first, he confirmed that there was another management.
I'm really sorry that I was so poorly served, we had to go to another restaurant for lunch, but for me Abílio dos Chickens it's finished, luckily we have a lot on offer.
