Additionally, the bill was surprisingly light for the quality of the food and wine, and we were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices. We stayed here last year and like the place a lot. We got a welcome drink, and that is nice after a walk! We are walking on the Camino Portugese. The rooms were cleaned and spacious. Great location

If you want freshly caught fish, simply grilled and served at your table- look no further. This is what a really good fish restaurant is all about. I am not a fan of Sea Bass (one of many fish types available) but when prepared like this, it’s a different proposition!!! Unpretentious interior but excellent food!

Crazy night at O Valentim We ordered a grilled octopus and a turbo fish. The octopus we’ve never seen and instead of the turbo, we had another fish, much smaller and cheaper. At the end, the turbo magically reappeared, but only on the bill. So, we payed 65 euros for a 1,25 kg turbo –fish (Rodovalho) that we’ve never seen in our dishes. My advice: check twice the order and the amounts, if necessarily use google translation for being sure that you pay for what you eat. Or, go to another restaurant then O Valentim. There are many others in the area. As about us, never come back! Cheers !

During our stay in Porto, we went for one day to Matosinhos (about 20 minute drive from Porto city centre) and it was truly a lovely day. We spent it by the beach and then went by a short walk from the beach for lunch at O Valentim. The staff were generally nice and the food was tasty. The desert like a creme brulee can be improved.

Holy moly this was a fabulous meal. 2 different Uber drivers recommended this spot and they were spot on. Garlic prawns and grilled squid starters, sardines, sea bass, octopus and black scabbard entrees all grilled to perfection. Even the simple boiled potatoes were perfectly soft and a great accompaniment. We are visiting from DC and were thrilled we had such an incredible meal that was as fresh dnd authentic as we could get. We sat in the airy outdoor patio area, it was perfect 10/10
